Why does FL Tours ask for your Dis Login Password when making reservations?

I just noticed that Fl Tours ask for not only your DIS name but also your Log In Password when making a towncar reservation. I don't feel comfortable giving that info out. If someone else had that info, they could post messages in your name.

Common sense for the special DIS discount (or DIScount ;))
It's available solely to DIS members; any lurker could see and use ANY member's screen name to make the reservation. FLTours most likely wants the password as proof you're entitled to the DIScount.
Remember, nobody HAS to use that link - the regular FLTours link/reservations page gives a smaller discount.

Wouldn't it be enough to know that the person making the reservation got their name from the DIS site?

Whatever, but that's not something I'll be doing. :confused3

Many people use the same, or similar, userids with the same password on multiple internet sites.

I'm not sure why FL Tours needs a password. A customer who isn't a member of DIS can just sign up. I might see the need if we had to pay to join DIS.

Well, I agree with Puffy I am not giving out my password. (I mean let's get real, in THEORY if you came back and posted something bad about thier service, what's to stop them from just changing your post? I am not saying they would, but...)

If they want to verify your membership, they could work something out with the board to email you the confirmation only to the address in your profile for example.

FL Tours is not asking for your DISboards password.

The screen in question asks for your DISboards username, your mailing address and contact information, and then a "login password".

This password would be a new one that you select and set so that you can login to the FLTours website and access your own reservation information. It is NOT your DISboards password.

Hope that helps. :sunny:

Thanks for clearing that up - maybe it needs to be worded a little better on the webpage.
