Why does everyone have such nice handwriting and I don't?

I've been told that they never saw a neat signature as mine. Took me years to get that "X" right. Also had hard time spelling it right.

Just having a little fun. How can anyone sign a legal document if they can't write their name?

I read somewhere that if you have bad handwriting, it is a mark of genius!:teeth:

Apparently, then, I'm a match for Einstein. We were taught cursive writing beginning in the third grade, and I was terrible at it. I got all A's and B's, with a C for handwriting. Twice, it was a D. Somehow, it just never really caught my attention. Now, if I try to use cursive, it looks like a 6 year old's first attempts. I print everything I can't type, and even that's gotten sloppier over the years.

My handwriting is atrocious! In my defense I am left handed.....:rolleyes1

We were taught and graded on penmanship in elementary school. I have nice, legible handwriting but my Mom has beautiful handwriting. Recently she went to the meat market to order a specific mixture of meats for a special recipe she was making. She wrote it all down on a piece of paper to make sure it was exactly right and handed it to the young clerk at the counter. The clerk (20 something) looked at it, handed it back and said she couldn't read handwriting, that she had never been taught to at school. My Mom was just shocked! The manager came out of the back and took her order. The schools in my area are now teaching handwriting, but for a period of several years, they did not.

....during my 2nd and third grade summers, my mom used to make me practice for 10-15 minutes every day on that light green paper with the blue dotted lines...I guess all that practice must have worked, because I often get compliments on my handwriting...
