why does Epcot close so early?

I agree about Epcot staying open later during the peak seasons. Not sure why they wouldn't.

Also, I was on a trip with my extended family last December and we were drinking around the world. I had picked an Epcot day with EMH thinking that would give us extra time to drink. Nope. All the drink stands and souvenir places in the World Showcase were shutting down right at normal park closing hours. I don't really understand that either.

It's all in the time of year - I consider Epcot to be the LATE park for our fall trips

I always wondered the same about EPCOT-- WS. Especially with the restaurants/bars etc. Just would think it would be profitable to keep WS open later. It would be fun if the restaurants were open post Illuminations for a special dessert/drink menu.

I agree 100%. DH and I always stay at one of the EPCOT Resorts and it would be so nice to stroll over to EPCOT after Illuminations, grab a drink and dessert and just walk around WS!! What a great idea that is.

I think 9 PM is way too early for a place like World Showcase to close down, especially in the summer months!
