Why do you think prices?

I was just wondering why prices on hotels and resorts that have in the past always run affordable specials seem to be holding back? I know that the Wyndham Palms Golf was quite expensive as compared to last year and so was Vistana Villages. There never seemed to be a break. I have always been able to get a great room for 110 or less at these places. In addition, I noticed that new resorts did not open with great specials as I had expected. With more rooms I would think that these luxury resorts would not be going up but maybe leveling out. I know when we asked what the expected price for the 2 bedroom at Wyndham Palms Golf would be in 03 for 04 they said about 135 a night. I have checked all the sites and no where have we found anything even close. Just wondering what others think of this. I can go back to the value type accomodations but it is hard!! I did get a deal at Vistana Villiage for 5 days 4 nights 1 bd rm for 119 after rebate with no tour but it came through Starwood not on the usual sites like HOtelkingdom and Hotels.com.

2004 has been a much better year for Orlando tourism and I think resort prices are beginning to reflect the upswing. There are still some excellent values to be had, depending on time of year you're traveling, but all in all I think Orlando is begging for guests a bit less this year than they have been in the past couple of years.

Bella the Ball 360,

check the webrates directly on www.wyndham.com. I have found recently the 2 bedroom to be the $135 but the rates are nonrefundable once you book it.

I just ran the dates of 5/21-5/25 just to make sure the webrates are still in effect & both 2 bedroom units are the $135.

here is the one we stayed in last year thru hotelkingdom.com

Bella the Ball 360,

I am finding this to be true also! First we had to change our vacation dates in order to receive the Entertainment rate at the Royal Pacific Resort. These seem to be very hard to come by this year. Then while checking around for somewhere to stay for two nights when the ER wasn't available at RP, I was surprised to see prices had gone up so much. Last year we stayed at Wyndham Palms Resort in a 2 bedroom unit for $89.00 a night! This year the rates at Hotelkingdom were $212 I believe? I am find the same to be true at many places in the Disney area. It looks like we are going with Cypress Pointe, these rates are still affordable and it looks like a very nice resort.
