I play VMK for the big shoes. Just kidding!
Well, I tried to play VMK when the game was new, but it never worked on my computer. Tried again in August, and still nothing. Finally worked on maybe the day after Halloween (although I think it took around 9 hours to load that first time!). Discovered pretty fast my knack for Fireworks and played a bunch until I got my magic maybe three weeks later. Stopped playing after Christmas through mid-March because I was sick so much with cold after flu after virus.

I started playing a lot when I got back from my late-March WDW trip. I got back on the 2nd of April, and ever since then I've played more. I think it's because it's helped me get past the post-WDW trip blues, particularly since I can't go back until May of 2008.

The Partners statue is especially special to me; I try to go there at least 5 times a week for closing. That and my AKL safari room are my two favorite places in VMK because I feel closest to WDW in those rooms. Or if I want to remember what was quite possibly the worst meal I have
ever had at WDW, I stop by Sci-Fi.
I had a few friends on VMK, but didn't start making more friendships until I became more active here on the DIS (before maybe March, I mostly stuck to the Theme Parks, Resorts, and Dining boards for WDW

).
So I suppose I still play VMK because of my love of the fireworks game, my love of all things Disney, my fondness of collecting things, and of course the friendships.

Although I plan on taking a several week break if I can ever get the silly Jack Sparrow outfit (hopefully two so I can gift one). My neck and shoulders and back can't take much more of this.
And I also keep playing because virtual pin collecting is a heck of a lot cheaper than real life pin collecting!

I should know, seeing as in the past two trips I've probably dropped $300 real, not virtual, bucks on pins alone.

Before then, I had only bought two pins in 2004, and that was it. The thought of spending $7 on a small piece of metal horrified me. Now I think nothing of dropping $25 on a Jumbo pin. Apparently my brain wires got crossed somewhere along the way, and hopefully that will reverse itself before 2008!

Is there therapy for pin collecting addictions, by chance?

Speaking of which, it'd be neat if they sold real-life versions of the pins in WDW and DL. Just think... even if you never get inferno, you could have a real pin that looks like the virtual one. No ring of fire, but it would be nice.
So yes, the fireworks, the friends, the connection to the real parks, and the pins. That's pretty much the reasons for me.
