Why do you live where you do?

We moved back "home" to Minnesota from California more than a decade ago. Three reasons: 1. Wanted my children in high quality public schools (not possible in California in most areas). 2. Wanted a lower cost of living area as I planned to be retire. 3. Wanted my children to grow up closer to family. We literally could have picked ANYWHERE at that time, and we chose what we knew. And, in selecting our specific area of the state, we chose a place where we could be outside the traffic nightmares of the Twin Cities, but close enough for access to it when we wanted to, and we knew we wanted to live on a lake. Overall, pretty happy with the place we chose.
