Why do you like Disney so much?

What keeps you going back to WDW time after time? What is it about Disney Vacations that are so attractive to you?

The wife and I have this discussion all the time. For me, it's the taking a break from the reality of every day life and living in pure Disney fantasy for awhile.

It's the best destination I have found for a single mom and two daughters to vacation. It's easy to navigate, the staff is always wonderful and helpful, the children can navigate some of it on their own, and the activities suit us perfectly. There's a huge variety of things to do, it's a different vacation every time we go, and we always look forward to the next trip!! And now that we own DVC, it will be a yearly vacation for the next 35 years!!!!

Magic, DVC, Weather, Escape, Attractions, Shows, Youthful, Fulfilling, Excitement, Planning, Enjoyment, Happiness, to name a few. :cool1:

It's an alternate universe. Not only are the parks, resorts and attractions so enjoyably different from the day to day grind, the other park guests seem to act in a much more friendly way than they would if the same number of them were commuting to a crowded city to work. At least that's how it seems to me to the extent that if a CM fails to smile on cue or if an exasperated parent yells at a child it provokes a long, hot thread on this board. In addition, our trip is usually taken during my college's Spring Break so we get to escape the dreary Pa. Winter and hit some 80 degree days before the first buds swell at home.

The look in my daughter's eyes when she's sees a character she loves is perfectly magical.

Good comparision. I like the way I feel that I've been "transported" to a magical place!

I travel quite a bit, but there is no where I can totally escape like Disney! There are MANY things I love about it, but the feeling I get when I'm there is what keeps bringing me back.

There is so much to do! We have 3 girls: 13, just-turned-8, and 4 and WDW is the only destination that has something for everyone. Even DH, who doesn't care for the parks is looking forward to the Richard Petty Driving Experience on our next trip. At WDW you can do as much or as little as you like and for us, it is the only trip that pleases everyone. DH complains, but I think he enjoys it more than he's willing to admit.

I love WDW because I like to see and do things on vacation. To me a vacation is NOT about relaxing...or rather, keeping busy IS relaxing to me. I can't just lie around on a beach, sit by the pool, or watch TV. I get terribly antsy and it just makes me crabby. AT WDW there is always something to do and I know that despite the girls' age difference there is always something for them to do as well.

I also love the atmosphere of the parks...the beauty, the attention to detail. The food is and drink is good too! :) I feel completely relaxed and 'at home' at WDW....all my cares disappear and all is right with the world...at least for 8 days. :goodvibes

We found a place where we are completely comfortable bringing our DD. There are children everywhere and we love that. Our other 2 vacations we took her on, we were a bit uncomfortable. Like people were looking at us thinking why is there a baby here? Our DD had an absolute blast so we had a blast. I had never been big into Disney before our trip, now I'm obsessed! LOL

I totally "get" the magic. I was pixie dusted and I love it!

Because it makes me feel like a child myself again. I took MANY trips as a child and those are some wonderful memories for me. I want my DS to have those same wonderful memories too.

I love it so much because when we are there we can just be a family and we don't have to worry about anything else expect being a family and enjoying each others company.

Because I cannot think of any other place that I can act just as GOOFY as my 2 little ones and no one. . . I repeat NO ONE. . . thinks I am crazy!!!!

I love that it is a clean and safe place. No crime. People are friendly. So many options. And, I get to see Pluto! (my favorite!) :rotfl:  :cool1:

There has just always been "something" about Disney World. I have been facintated by Walt and his ideas since I was a small child. Dh and I met at Disney also, so it will always be special no matter how high prices rise or what dumb changes they make to the parks.

It takes you away from reality....into a magical and wonderful world. No worries. Just fun and imagination....aahhhhh......

Two words...inner child. I love being reintroduced to him again and again.

A friend of mine just asked me this question. For me, it's several things:

1. It's a place where everything is as it should be. Well...that's probably an exaggeration. But it's probably the closest thing to it on this earth. And not to start a debate, but IMO that aspect of WDW used to be better than it is today.

2. It brings back happy memories of the only real vacations we took as a family when I was a child.

3. I was brought up with Disney. And my mom passed on her love of Disney. We went to see Disney movies, watched the Mickey Mouse Club (the original, in reruns) after school, Sunday nights we watched the Wonderful World of Disney. So again, it connects me back to my childhood.

4. There's always something new everytime we go. And we haven't even seen it all!

5. It's a great, family friendly, (usually) warm weather destination.

6. The attention to detail is something I appreciate. And I also love the themeing of the various hotels, lands in the MK, countries in WS, continents in AK, etc.

7. Seeing the joy on any child's face when they meet a character or see the castle or ride Dumbo...I could go on and on with this one!

Escape from reality; fantasy; make believe; being a child again; spending time with my family, where everyone has a great time; magical.

I was reminded again, why I love Disney, just yesterday. A friend was trying to rationalize santa :confused3 and in her mind, things don't make sense. This is the same person who said to me, Disney was only for toddlers and saw no reason to take her 10 yr old and 6 yr old. She then said it was just a bunch of fairies. :confused3 :confused3 I thought to myself, no wonder you don't "get" Disney, in her mind, things all have to make sense and be logical. Although, most of that is another story, another day..... :rotfl2:

I could not have worded my reason for going back any better!
