Why do you book a moderate?

We've stayed at WL a few times, in the past and loved it. But were CBR regulars. We've stayed there 14 times so far, going on our 15th time. We love the layout, how it's spread out. We love to walk along the beach in the morning before the park "rush", its so quiet. I would say we stay there because of the theme, and in general the way the resort is set up.

Here's something for you to consider. If you can get a discount at the Swan or Dolphin, the pricing can be the same or less than a mod.

We're going in two weeks and got the Dolphin for the same rate we were going to pay at POR because I work for a board of education.

Check it out. I don't think the location can be better. We've stayed at both the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge, which are very convenient to the Magic Kingdom, but not so much to anywhere else.

I booked a moderate this year, because we could not afford a deluxe and the value's would not accomodate our party of 5. Believe me, if there was an AP rate during the time we were going, I would have probably switched to the deluxe.

If deluxes weren't such a big price jump we would stay there. To me, the quiet pools at the Mods are a huge plus for us, and the themeing is great and the busses are excellent, so we see no need to spend extra for a deluxe.

I've stayed in all three types and while I love having a balcony and relaxing there, I don't stay in the room long enough to justify it. For me, a room is a place to shower and sleep. If I was having a "resort day" and not visiting a park, I might rethink.

I love CBR and POR but have had great stays at POP and ASMu.

I prefer an outside entrance when I'm with my entire family for a week. Much less "shush!"ing...

I might do a deluxe if I were only booking one room, but since we're a family of 5 (kids aged 16, 13 and 8), it's out of the question.

The main reason I would want a deluxe is for convenience. I haven't stayed deluxe yet, but I would prefer to be within walking distance to the parks or on the monorail. (I have small children)

yeah...that would probably be the only reason i'd shell out the cash for a deluxe.

We're a family of 5 so really it is moderate or deluxe for us. Deluxe is way too much money for what you get and family suites at the value isn't worth it for us. With the moderate were in one room and we have 2 sinks. I personally don't like the thought of 2 doors going into our room at night, and the kids sleeping in one room and us in another. I feel safer in the one room at POR. The grounds are nice and the decor is something us as a family enjoy. If we could afford it the deluxe would be nice to try but by the views I've heard there no better then the mods and there way more expensive.

If it weren't for the money, we'd be in a deluxe. It is $2,000 more during springbreak to stay at a deluxe that in POFQ. That is for 6 nights. Can you believe that? $333/more per night.

Just not worth it at all since we spend 80% of our waking hours at the park. If it was only $100 more per night we would have done it. I think the deluxes have just that extra special disney feel...the music, theming, gorgeous pools, etc.

However, I still love POFQ and will be going back next month. My only dilemma is....should we have done something different and gone to Coronado?

I book a moderate because the rates at the deluxe resorts are out of control.

We prefer to have a refrigerator. If we add refigerator rental and preferred location to a value resort, we are at about the cost of a moderate. We mightas well stick with moderate.

Ok, what resort doesn't have bathroom doors, cause I definately don't want to stay there!

There's a few reasons why we booked a moderate this vacation:

a). The prices for the deluxes are ridiculous. (but I'd stay there in a heartbeat if I could part with the cash easier)
b). The mods are more what we're used to these days as compared to the values (amenities, grounds, etc..).
c). I wanted a fridge and it seemed silly to book a value, then rent the fridge for $15/day when you could just get a mod room for just a tad more and have the fridge included.

(BTW, you may notice by my signature that we're ALSO booked at a value, but that's because we were going to stay over by the space center for the rest of our trip, but had trouble finding decent accomodations for a good price so we just decided to stay at Disney cheaper. I was going to try and persuade DH into still staying at CSR for the last few days, but our 5yr old saw the pictures of ASMo and that's all she wrote. There's no going back on it now! Our MYW package is only for the time we're at CSR. We'll be fridgeless at Movies unless I do a fridge swap.)
