Why do the tea cups make people sick?

On the teacups, you might focus on the teacup, or the other people who are in it, who appear stationary to you. But everything around you is spinning, and your ears tell you you are spinning. The brain becomes confused. Sometimes it is better to focus on the outside. Others can't handle that, and its better to focus on what is still. Some are more sensitive to what direction the teacup itself is spinning.

I think I keep changing my focus spot, thus leading to a far more "exciting" ride. Yes, I do stumble a bit when I get off. But I am ready to go back on again.

None of the WDW rides give me a problem as they are rather "tame" compared to other amusement park rides. You know, the "big" ones. Not sure if I would handle the big rides now as well as I did twenty years ago when I was last at Great Adventure in New Jersey.

I do hate to admit that Space Moutain shook me about a little more than my body was happy with. I'd still go on it again, but at some point, I'd have to listen to my back instead of doing what I want to do!

I love the Tea Cups. One of my favorites. I love to spin but drops are another thing entirely! I am terrified of drops!

I like spins and drops.

But my body is older. I will test it at Islands of Adventure in December. Hope I do well!

You must like Primeval Whirl then Lol!

I didn't get to go on it! We had waited in a long line for Dinosaur. There was a long line for Whirl, and the same long line later in the day.

It looked too much like a typical carnival ride, nothing special. I think I had read so-so reviews on it. So I thought it was an okay one to miss.

Like many of the other posters, I can do any coaster and love it but start to spin me and I am done. The Carousel does make me quesy but I can handle it. I had a hard time in Universal because of all the rides that show the movies while moving you around. I just closed my eyes and prayed until the Simpson's was over.

The simulator rides play games with your body and brain in a way that can be very disorienting. Those ride designers really know what they are doing.

I went on the Simpson's ride with two friends. Two of us loved it. The third was hated it and couldn't walk straight afterwards. I am sure she wouldn't have done well on Mission Space either.
