Why do people stare?

This has been bugging me for exactly 9 weeks

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Anyways, I don't understand why let's say guys have to stare at girls like constantly? And then all of a sudden their friends start staring at you too?
(It's getting annoying).

Or the situation could be with a girl.

Anyways, you just get that feeling that you are being watched and when there is nobody sitting in the seat beside you in a class of 200 students and the person is looking directly your way - WHY?

Why do the opposite genders have to stare at each other? Doesn't anybody find it creepy when they are being stared at?
And why do people stare at others in general, regardless of their gender?

( P.S. I wonder about strange things all the time )

It is the animal instincts in us. The males are looking for a 'mate' and the females are looking for a strong man to take care of them...sorry if I sound a little ya know, but that's what I think.

I bet even you are caught up in one from time to time

Sometimes I look at people, but like you said its human nature. But I do not stare at them for like 2-3 minutes at a time
But why do people stare constantly?
It gets kind of creeperish?

It might just be in your head. I know when I am in a class of 200 people I zone out, and may be "staring" at someone without realizing it.

Maybe they like you, take it as a compliment lol. Who knows, I don't let it bother me, and therefore I don't notice it as much anymore.

The reason some people stare for longer periods of time than others is because not everyone is taught that staring is rude.

I do that all the time, especially at school.

And in all honesty, if people aren't staring at me angrily or with a dirty look on their face, and if they're guys, I just take it as a compliment.

Oh me and my friends stare at guys all the time. Like if we see a really cute guy we'll just enjoy the view while it's there. xD yehh. I never thought it was wierd. I thought eveyone else did the same. Lol

Definitely an excuse.I used to use that all the time.

If it's the same game we played basically you have a cop and a killer and the rest of the people are there to get killed.The killer has to use subtle gestures or movements to kill people and its up to the cop to figure it out.
