I see where you're coming from.....they're not looking for advice, but approval of a decision that they've really already made.

I don't get it either. Just like I don't understand coming to a message board about very personal issues.

Well, personally, I don't consider it a waste of my time but more that they're entertaining me by flat out sticking to their position no matter the reasoning that's shown to them. That kind of thing keeps me occupied, KWIM?

I totally agree. I hate it when they ask for opinions only to come back and tell you how wrong your opinion is and how right theirs is. Worse yet is when the general opinion is different than theirs and they slam everyone.
