Why do parties of 8 or more have to sit on the patio at Wolfgang Puck ?

I just made an ADR for my party of 9 at Wolfgang Puck Cafe for Aug 31. Disnsy dining could not make the ADR for me ... I had to be transferred over to the restautant and deal directly with them since we were a party of 8 or more. After we went through the whole reservation, the girl said we would be restricted to seating outside on the patio due to our party size :confused3 . Has anyone heard this before ?

Have you eaten out on the patio in the summer ? If so, was it bearable ?! Just trying to decide if I want to keep this ADR or think about going somewhere else. We are a party of 4 adults and 5 kiddos ... with one 3 year old and one 1 year old in the mix !

Maybe they couldn't accomodate you inside this late in the ressie game. Last Sept we had a party of 9 and were able to eat inside. I think it has something to do with how many large parties that they can accomodate inside at any one time. They may have only had outside availab.e

Maybe that's the issue ... I hadn't thought of that !

She made it sound like it was just due to our party size, not that the inside seating was all booked up at that time for the party size. Maybe I'll call back and try for another day for inside seating. I'm a little hesitant to stick with the outdoor seating with the little ones.

Thanks ! :sunny:

That sounds wrong to me. There is a long banquette that could accomodate you inside. Of course, it could be as zurgswife said and they could already have large parties booked for your time.

I also can't remember any tables outside that could accomodate parties that large. :confused3

I wonder if she had it backwards? ;)

Would you consider eating upstairs in Wolfgang Puck's Dining Room (Upstairs)? We ate there last month and it was WONDERFUL!!!! We originally had ressies for the Cafe, but when we arrived it was too loud and crowded for us, so we were able to get a table upstairs. We never ate there before and it was one of the best meals of our trip. There were children there, so don't worry about that. I personally think its too hot to eat outside in August, especially with the kids. Have fun, whatever you decide.
