Why do my arms and legs keep falling asleep??

Went to the doctor and he is sending me to a neurologist. I have been trying to watch what I eat and being more active than I was. It seems to be helping a little. Now the sensation has changes from tingling to patches of numbness but not that frequent. :confused3

Even if you are diagnosed with MS, don't worry. You can continue to live very normally most of the time. I was diagnosed in 1990 and worked until 1997 when I was just having way too many attacks and made the decision to stay home. It was a tough decision, but I don't regret it. :)

In any case, IF that's your diagnosis, there's me and Gail and a few others here that have MS and I'm sure we'll all be there to answer your questions and help pull you through that initial shock. That's really the toughest part. So never fear - you've got lots of friends to lean on! :grouphug: :teeth:

I have a problem somewhat like this. We found out when I was 15 that I have something called Reynaud's (SP?) phenomenom. It causes numbness and tingling in my hands and lower arms and feet and lower legs. My legs and arms "fall asleep" VERY easily, also. The Dr. told me about 3 years ago that getting nervous/stressed out aggravates it and if I were to get extremely agitated that I could have a stroke or a heart attack. BTW, I am only 25. My thoughts at the time were Yippee for me.... But I have become quite good at keeping myself calm as their is no known medication that will help this. It stinks though because even if I am really happy about something and get excited I have problems with it. You might want to check with your Dr. as this is quite rare (hence the term phenomenom at the end of it) and is sometimes not caught. Good Luck!! :) :earsgirl: :earsboy: ::MinnieMo

It turns out that I don't have MS! An MRI indicated that I have two bulging discs at that are protruding into my spinal cord at c5 and c7. I can live with it but it will require surgery enventually. The surgery is very common and routine. I think spending so much time on the DIS sitting on the computer aggravated it causing my symptoms. I have not been on the DIS for about a month! Trying to stay off of the computer as much as possible. My syptoms have almost dissappeared completley! Thanks for all the replys!

hey,
no dis???? oh my god you've gone crazy! :teeth: i hope all is well and you feel better quick.
