Why Did You First Go To Disney

What was the reason that you first went to disney?
Mine was because we hadn't been on a family vacation in a while. Ever since then we have been hooked!!

My parents brought us for Thanksgiving one year. We all love it, and try to go when we can!

I was 7 years old the first time I went. I did not have much say in the matter.

Disney was our first Family Vacation, the only place we could think of that 4 kids would enjoy. Since the first visit, we've been hooked and plan to go every year.

We went because my husband and I have never ever had a family vacation when we were kids. Now that we have two kids we just felt like it was time. So December 2004 was our very first trip to Disney World and our very first family vacation.

We decided on Disney because we both wished to go for so long and both of our children just love the princesses.

We had a fantastic time and can't wait to go again.

The only downfall (and this has nothing to do with Disney) was we got caught up in that Christmas Eve US Air mess in Philadelphia. We will never fly with a lay over again.

Otherwise, we never would have known how magical it is, because we had no desire to go. We fell under Mickey's spell and are planning our third trip. Can't wait!!!

I had watched the Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday night growing up and had always wanted to go to Disneyland. My parents said if they ever built one on the east coast, we would go. So, when I was 11 we went... it was so much fun!

We had never had a real vacation since we have been married. (22yrs now) We had went to Maine and was not impressed. (kids were not into the wild life thing) All the kids said we should have went to Disney. The next year we went and have been hooked since. Now you can see from my signature that we gomore often allt he time. My kids are older 17, 16,& 13 so it is a place we all go to and enjoy. We never have to separate and all ride and get to be a family in the most magical place ever. Can not imagine going any place else.

I too grew up watching the Wonderful World of Disney and it was a dream of mine to go there. My sisters live in California and I went there when I was 15 and they took me to Disneyland. I loved it and when my other sister who lived in NH at the time was going to Disney World about a year and a half later I asked if I could go. I had to pay my own way but I saved enough to go and we had a blast even though it was only MK and Epcot at the time (anyone remember Captain EO?) Then in 1999, my DH started talking about taking the kids and we have taken three trips since then. My demented plan is to go every year if we can sometimes with Dad and sometimes without. I love walking down Main Street and seeing Cinderella castle and it is a feeling that is hard to reproduce anywhere else.

I, too, watched the Wonderful World of Disney every week and loved the opening shots. I was just fascinated with the Disneyland idea, but my parents were never able to afford a trip from 3000 mile trip for our family of four. When I married my first husband in 1974 our first vacation was to WDW.
I've gone about every five years since then. I never tire of it. We took our oldest grand daughter for her first trip to WDW in June 2000 and we will be taking our youngest grand daughter there this June.

My Mom took me when I was 2 years old. I used to watch The Wonderful World of Disney & I would cry for "The dumbos!". When I started talking Mom says my first real sentance was "Mommy, some peoples go to Disney World."

That was all it took. Mom booked a trip right on the spot.

And I have been hooked ever since!

We started going to WDW when I was a teenager and I have been hooked since that time. . Now that I have a DD4 she too is becoming hooked to the magic. Every week she tells me, Dad, when are we going back to WDW? I think she has the fever!!!

My mom's been going since she was a kid. She went a month after it opened and kept going back. When she had us she took us. I was probably 1 on my first Disney trip.

My first time was my Honeymoon with my DW. I fell in love with Disney. Me and my DW have been going once or twice every year since 1994. After I got back from our Honeymoon I went and screamed and yelled at my parents for never taking me when I was a kid! Of course, they thought I was crazy!

My Mom thought me and my brother should experience it at least once. What has she created??? My brother goes like ever 4-5 years, they mix up yearly vacations, me.... I have given up all hopes on other vacations. I still send kids to see family, I keep my "days" for WDW, got to get over this addiction!!!

I went to Disney once as a child but didn't really remember it & didn't really want to go as an adult. BUT my husband was there on business & wanted me & my (then) 2 year old daughter to come down & meet him, so we did...& now I cannot think of anywhere else I'd rather be with my family for vacation...

My mother and I were visiting my brother and his family in California (1979)and my brother took us to Disneyland and Universal Hollywood.

My sister and her family here in Michigan wanted to go to Orlando (1982) and they wanted to take me and our brother to Disney. We had a blast!

My father worked for IBM and apparently did some kind of collaborative work on something for the MK, so IBM sent all its employees for that division or whatever on an expense-paid trip to check it out. I was only two years old, hence the vagueness.

I had always wanted to go to WDW as a child/teen, but family couldn't afford it. When I was in college, I worked three jobs and saved so I could go. I've been HOOKED ever since!!!! And, it's much more special now that I have DS and my mom going too!!
