Why did so many people here join in the early to mid 2000's?

I joined in 2005 when we were planning our 1st family trip. Our 2 older kids were 3 & 5, & our 3rd hadn’t yet been born. Now, our 2 older kids are 22 & 23, & our youngest is 14.
