Why did I get a memory maker card in mail?

I may be mistaken but i don't remember getting a card in the mail for this last yr. Why would they send one if we're just going to scan our bands when we take pictures? I was logged in to my account on mde when i ordered the memory maker. and when i try to go in and link the number on the back of the card it says this card has already been linked to an account. so am I good? do i need to do anything else? i tried to call disney and there's a 20 min. wait. i don't have time to wait that long on the phone this morning. do i really need to do anything else?

We got one anyway last year even with mb. We ordered it separate from the package.

Good question Poshmom. I too got mine in the mail the other day and was wondering if I needed it for anything.
