Why can't we have a normal adiction, like say drugs.

WDW is just so expensive and a long way away.

Not only that I want to talk about it to everbody and they just don't understand how it feels. and ALL the time. Even when I am asleep.

I go out for the night to say the pub and the girls just want to talk children, schools, clothes. I just want to talk about the summer closing of Haunted Mansion, the new Nemo Musical or whether we can get a ADR during free DDP.

How can I feed my adiction when I can only go once a year if lucky. All I can say is thank you the DIS as I can get my Disney fix. No-one wants to talk about my Mickey earrings, necklace or bag. I am an outcast. HELP ME!

I need a fix

Susan

Have you been drinking? ;) Hehe

I totally understand what you are saying (and not just becuase I am hammered), I LOVE WDW, Dh likes it but not like I do! However, if you compared a cocaine addiction to WDW I bet people spend more on coke than a holiday to WDW, its just a shame that we only get our high every 12 months!!!

Hi Mark & Sue

You can get help from various places
There is the Private health care way ( Florida or California)
then there's the National health care ( Paris)

Or if you have really sunk to the bottom ( Butlins) :rotfl:

Seriously I know what you mean. I'm lucky that I have found a fellow Disney freak at work. We just start talking and go off into our own little world, the trouble is when we come down again everyone else are shaking their heads with a look of pity on their faces. :hippie:

I'm lucky if I get to WDW every 3 or 4 years! But I have found a group that are happy to feed my addiction (and not just the DIS). I work at a primary school and the kids love my earrings and socks etc.

When I started working there the children often gave me pictures that they had drawn of me but now I get pictures of Mickey instead. (Although one or two are worried for my husband when I tell them that Mickey Mouse is my secret boyfriend).

i definately know what you mean, people just giggle at me when i wear my tigger t-shirt, with my WDW sweatshirt and mickey earrings, they don't have to ask where i am going on holiday. Luckily I can talk to my friend who is coming with me in August, she can't wait to get to the magic, but most other people just roll their eyes at me, and I have to reign it in. But I can't get thorugh a day without several disney thoughts thats for sure:goodvibes

I know what you mean ........people certainly see me as rather eccentric at work, especially as if anyone mentions they are going on a Disney vacation, then they can't get rid of me! Even though many of my colleagues have been / are going to WDW or Disneyland Paris, they don't understand my obsession with Disney holidays. I do have a second obsession, which I do try and keep quiet about for fear of ridicule at work and among friends.....a complete obsession with all things Pirates of the Caribbean, and I actually have close friends who have not seen the first two films, or have ever been to Disney, so I am sure they avoid coming round to our place for dinner!
I can certainly bore for Britain on both subjects.....thanks to the DIS and other websites full of like minded obsessives who keep me on the edge of sanity!:rotfl:

all my friends have a total look of panic if someone mentions disney near me :lmao:

even my dh thinks im mad :confused3

OMG 3 or 4 years that must be hard.

We have been lucky recently getting a Disney fix every 3- 4 months, going again Easter 14 nights and August for 25 nights but then nothing else planned. I am worrying already, ok going to look at flights for October.:rotfl2:

We've gone the last 3 years, are going this Oct and are planning to go for our honeymoon next year but then we have to stop for a break of a few years when the first kid decides to appear. Can't go when I'm pregnant and we don't want to take them until they're about 3 so that's a 4 year gap (assuming we don't have a 2nd in that gap!) It's gonna be so hard not going!

I work with three who have never been but understand my urges and one perseon who's a total disney grinch and thinks the DIS is a cult thing and we're all going to lock ourselves into A Small World one day and take part in group suicide by drowning in the three inch high water

I know how you feel. I am in a bit of a Disney depression at the moment. The way things have worked out this year we can't fit in a WDW holiday:scared1: The first time in 13 years:scared1:

.We have got weddings in the summer(I did suggest we just send a pressie:lmao: )but that did not go down well,my granda is in the last stages of cancer so cant really go at easter and my DH cannot get the October school holidays so I have to face facts that we are not going.

We are going to DLP in the summer but although I love DLP for a short fix I love my WDW fix.

Makes me sound like a spoilt brat dunnit :rotfl:

We used to go once every 12/14 months but I have an insane amount of trips planned at the moment:
September - DCL; October - WDW; December - WDW; May 2008 - WDW and DCL; August 2008 - DCL and DL!!!

Of course this level of Disactivity is totally unsustainable but I'm worried the damage is already done and, once these trips are over, I'll be even more addicted than I was before! I'm also newly addicted to DVC - I can't stop wanting to add-on points...

OMG you're so lucky, did you win the lottery?????

Seriously karen. how did you pull that off, so jealous right now

Don't worry, you're in good company here :goodvibes
I'm already plotting pirate: how to fit a trip in next year possibly (going with my sister) I told bf he can have a Disney break next year :rotfl:

I know what you mean Sue,

I am very fortunate that Gavin not only put's up with my addiction but nutures it. He enjoys DLRP & WDW and love's to buy me Disney gifts.

At work everyone is well aware and birthdays/xmas & as of last Friday my leaving gift's are all Mickey related, I have been super lucky there and when giving me my leaving present it was mentioned that at my new branch on Monday I should keep my obsession under wraps for at least a few hours so my new team don't think i'm a complete freak on my first day!

:yay:

Jodie

Everyone is well aware of my addiction at work and they all thing its weird! But none of them have ever been to WDW or even DLRP so what can i expect! Fortunately i have hubbie who is as hooked as i am!
