Why can't I post new threads?

I can post replies, but not new threads

OK, well it looks as though it's just certain things then. Even more confused.

I had to experiment with 3 different thread titles before I was able to post the 'Save Disney' thread. I kept getting an error message telling me it was a duplicate post, when it was only my first attempt. I tried 'Disney, Roy and Stanley kiss and make up' and 'Roy, Stanley and Disney kiss and make up' before settling for 'Save Disney'. The same thing was happening a couple of weeks ago when I tried to post a new thread.

There is a problem with posting long titles at the moment. If you post with a short title you can always amend the title once posted to make it longer if you wish

I had the same problem when trying to post part 8 of my trip report. I found the solution during a visit to the Tech Boards where it was suggested that I use a one-word title for the thread, then edit the title to what it should be once the post had been made. Lo and behold it worked, but it seems to be a problem that is affecting the whole site judging by the number of complaints and pleas for help from our American friends!

aaaah that explains it......i had a similar prob last week on the restaurant board i thought it was just me
