From the trip, this is my favorite castle picture. For some reason, it feels like a tranquil scene.

I know I'm coming into the discussion late but the castle NEVER looks straight to me! I've tried straightening things in PP but it still always looks crooked. I've often wondered if there are several different vertical components that just are not parallel to each other. Nice pictures, by the way :)

Thanks, I agree about something just not being right!

I received news today that my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 is being sent back to me. :yay: I sent it in for repairs on Monday. It required replacement of the MR sensor in the front lens (:confused3) and they cleaned the HSM motor. That is a quick turnaround! Kudos to Sigma!

The Animal Kingdom is not the DW's favorite park. Myself, I enjoy it, although during the summer months it is extremely hot. The upside is that she allows me to photograph as much as I want as she lounges back at the hotel pool!

Hi Terry,

I am coming in late on this thread but I wanted to echo other's sentiments that you captured some great pics on your trip! The new Sigma lenses you purchased last year did a great job (except for the unfortunate AF issues you had with the 70-200). Getting that castle level is a common affliction that I suffer with as well. Fortunately an easy fix with Post Processing. You know I have also suffered with those dark rides as well (esp that cursed Peter Pan ride).

Looks like you had an outstanding trip and I am looking forward to seeing any additional posts of your fine work. :thumbsup2

Thank you very much. We had a lot of extra pixie dust magic on this trip. An unexpected lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table and preferred seating for the afternoon parade courtesy of the Mouse. We were given a preferred seating area for LMA at DHS totally by luck. I was pleased with the photo results especially in the ratio of keepers to throwaways. The 70-200 is fixed and on its way back. I sent it in on Monday and Sigma had it fixed by Friday. It was a MR sensor on the first lens, whatever that is. I have one last installment of general pictures. I need to start working on our photopass book. I only have two weeks left to complete the order and we also have to work at Chicagoland Speedway with Nascar coming in two weeks! Again, thank you for your kind words. If I remember correctly I picked your brain because of the great pics you posted on your 09 trip. You did a great job!!:)

I want to thank everyone for their kind words. It has encouraged me to work harder to learn more about this disease we all have, photography! I have to be at our speedway in less than two weeks for Nascar weekend. It takes a lot effort to put that show on that everyone sees on Saturday (Nationwide) and Sunday (Cup). I hope everyone enjoyed viewing the images as much as I did taking them. Again, thanks to all photographers on the 'Board' for all their help in making this a successful trip for me.:worship:

Would you mind answering a newbie question for me? I'm always impressed when someone can get great indoor pictures without flash. I loved your Nemo Show pictures. Do you remember what your camera was set on? I know you had to raise your ISO but how high?

I'm still shooting on automatic and Aperture priority (in my defense I've only had my DSLR for a week now). LOL.

Thank you. I shoot with a Pentax K10D and the max ISO is 1600 and that is what I used. The lens was a Sigma 28-70 f2.8. I used aperture priority with a setting of 3.5 and let the camera pick the shutter speed. I did have to watch that depending on the light. I had a few where the shutter speed was to slow and had some blurring, but for most there was sufficient light to get stop action without blurring. I could have stepped it down to 2.8, but that lens starts to get soft wide open. Thats not the sweet spot for that lens.

I would like to thank you for all your photo’s you have posted. I also shot with a K10D so I know what it takes too get low light shots. I will be buying 24-70 F2.8 or something in that range! I will be in Disney in December and I feel a lot bet about my camera in low light situation. Great Job!!!!!!!
Thanks Again :thumbsup2

Great collection of shots! Many thanks for sharing with us all! And you've motivated me to lug along that long lens with me every day at Disney. Each park has some wonderful shows and details I will want to have it along for!

Thank you for the kind complements. You may want to look at the Sigma 28-70 f2.8. It was a cheaper substitute ($349 @ B & H) for both versions of the 24-70. I didn't know if I would miss the 4mm on the short end, but I found I didn't. If I needed something wider, I just let my feet take care of it. I think I only used 18-55 on DW's K10 a couple of times. Good luck in December and remember to have fun.

Just curious- where were you when you took the New Fantasyland picture? Is that from Dumbo?

Excellent collection of photos for a single trip. You covered a lot of the World and did a great job capturing it. Thank you for sharing.
