I know I'm getting old...I get it, I really do. But, come on. Why the heck can't I find sneakers to fit my feet? Yes, I have high arches. But there have to be some styles out there that will fit the bill and allow me to be comfy. I spent about 45 minutes yesterday, getting fitted at a running store, for walking sneakers. Nothing special, just for everyday walking...walking the dog, in WDW, that kind of thing. I can't find a pair of shoes that does not bother the circulation in my feet for some reason. I do have non-skinny feet. Used to wear an 8, but have been wearing a 9, that whole getting older thing. So, yesterday, they fit me with a 9 1/2....my right foot is bigger than the left. I knew that, but even with a larger shoe, my left foot still tingles and feels funny after wearing the stupid shoe for an hour or so. And at $90 a whack, I want shoes that make me feel good. The girl did tell me that if the shoes don't feel good after wearing them around the house today to bring them back, but that she wasn't sure what she would recommend then since she had tried all the appropriate styles they had. Arrrggghhhhhh!!!!! Any of you have similar type foot issues? I can't be wearing Crocs the rest of my life, and the little stones get under my foot through those holes in 'em when I try to wear them to walk the dog!!!! Ouchy!!! :confused3

This may sound silly but have you tried not tying them quite so tight?

New Balance style #1122.

Good arch support. Many choices of widthss. Very comfy-I walked a 1/2 marathon in them.

What about Rykas? They're made for women. I have very wide feet, but low arches. They work great for me and are so comfy. They feel like pillows on my feet. :goodvibes (not as soft as Crocs, but very comfy)

You have to go to New Balance Factory outlet Boston or Maine
then go to ...Mens sneakers
then go to ..................4E
then go to...................SL2 last
(Different lasts have different toe width, heel width, arch height and foot volume. The Sl2 last is narrow heel, high arch, wide toe and deep toe i think.)

and then try on every style to find one pair that will fit.

At least that is what i have to do!

I hate sneakers. I've never found a pair to be truly comfortable. I have very high arches too, I guess that might be the problem. The only brand I have ever owned that is semi-comfortable is Adidas, and I bought those about 10 years ago and they are on their last leg. I don't even think they make that style anymore so when they wear out I guess I'll just never wear sneakers again.

I was going to suggest them as well. I have a narrow foot and high arch and they're great. The only running shoe I can wear.

I am a New Balance girl and for years wore the 608's but spied another pair of New Balances on a woman at Disney 843's and I have to say now the 608's feel like boards! I walk 6 miles a day in these shoes and I love them. I bought my first pair in store and once I knew my size started ordering them through shoebuy.com since around the holidays (any holiday, Labor Day, 4th of July etc.) they have sales of 20% off plus free shipping. I absolutely love these shoes and they come in all widths. If they don't work I too would say try a men's shoe.

I haven't tried them, but a lot of nurses I work with wear New Balance. We have a New Balance store here, that will fit you with the appropriate shoe.

I have wide feet and I can't find reasonable priced (breast cancer) pink sneakers in wide. I tried Payless and Target with no luck. Off to search other stores.

THank you all!!! Some good ideas. Yes, I have tried tying them more loosely....now the shoes are almost falling off my feet!! I think I'll try an outlet and the mens section. Thanks again.

Well, when you least expect it....along comes the Tag Fairy!!!! Too funny. The old lady says 'thanks for noticing!' :woohoo:

I have high arches and narrow feet. I have NEVER had a pair of truely comfortable shoes. Shoe shopping is VERY frustrating! I live in Maine and have considered finding the New Balance Outlet and giving it a try, but have not done so. I have decided that when I have the extra $, I will make the trip.

I have the same problem with high arches. I also have wide feet and my left is about a half size bigger than my right. I have found the only sneakers I can wear are Nike Running sneakers. I tried the cross trainers and walking sneakers before, but the arch isn't high enough and they just ended up really hurting my feet -- they have to be running sneakers. I've also tried New Balance (which were recommended by my podiatrist) and they hurt my feet. I've tried men's sneakers, and they just didn't work for me for whatever reason.

I have thick and wide feet and had to go to mens shoes several years ago. They aren't stylish, but they do fit better. I seem to do best with new balance mens shoes.
