What am I doing wrong here - I've looked in the pharmacy section at Wal-Mart, and at a CVS in the band-aid/bandages section, and no luck (and of course no one to ask). I know what it is from my younger hiking days, I just can't FIND it!!

Any help with this pathetic problem? What brand makes it? What does the box look like? Arrgh!

TIA - AV

You have to look in the area of footcare, with the Dr. Scholls stuff not just the band aid area. I have found them to be there in a small (2X4) flat package with plastic wrapping hanging on a hook. Good luck! :sunny:

Dr. Scholl's makes it and there's usually a generic store brand for cheaper. I've found it in the "foot" section where they sell stuff for corns, shoe insoles, etc. -Stephanie

Try Target and Wal-Mart - they DEFINITELY carry a huge line of Dr. Scholl's.

We didn't use the moleskin, though. We found an awesome product made by Band-Aid that is called Blister Care. They are gel-filled pads that are water-proof and cushion the blister and don't let anything get into it. Plus, if I remember correctly, they have medicine in them to help heal and ease pain. They were a GOD SEND on our last trip.
The moleskin would have had to be cut out (with a hole in the middle) and it slips a bit during use.

I recommend the Band-Aids.

Today is your lucky day, as I happen to be a Walmart Employee! LOL When you are bandaid aisle, the bandaids are on your left, go to the other end of the aisle where the blister/corn care items are. Moleskin is on the bottom row of pegs in the middle, and is in a flat clear package. I think it runs about 2.98 :) Its there I promise!

Is the moleskin that everyone is talking about the same thing as the moleskin foam I see in the foot care section of my pharmacy? It seems awfully thick.

One in the same, Found in the foot care section of the store

I disagree! The "mole foam" is NOT the same as plain moleskin. It is MUCH thicker, as I discovered in January when I cut a piece to put on the back of my heel. The moleskin Disney has at First Aid is not thick like that. I was able to get by with the foam, but I wasn't thrilled. I think the only reason it worked for me was the location of my blister. The thinner type would be better, but I never saw any when I was looking pre-trip. Good luck!!

Moles are usually hibernating this time of year............ :rotfl2:

and even when they aren't I find it really tough to keep one attached to my heel for a whole day of park touring....They never want to go on the same rides that I want to go on.

I found some moleskin at a dollar store. I bought a package just in case. I'm going to cut it into different sizes and carry some with me. Hope I dont need it though.

carpendar's glue works just as good, apply some, smear it all over and let it dry. End of outing, peel it off, it just makes your skin slip on the shoe instead of rubbing.

Ok, has anybody seen the thin-type moleskin for sale at any retail establishment?
