WHy can I never get a DVC reservation at Fort Wilderness

Can anyone shed any light on why there is never any DVC availability at Fort Wilderness for an RV Site. We have been there many times and have had to pay cash because there is no availability for DVC points. Yet, half of Fort Wilderness is empty. I have been on the phone with DVC over and over trying to get a couple days in the beginning of April. I have been told there is not one day available in the entire month of April...what. Everyday is available if I pay cash though.

Why would Disney rather make no money with an empty site, that getting paid thru DVC. I just want to spend a few days at the Fort, and not over the holiday either. Anyone know any way of getting days available? I tried one day, up to three weeks straight...always told nothing is available. Any suggestions?

This is interesting to know. Last year we also paid cash and had not checked availability for DVC as I had banked all my points at that time. We wanted to go again, so it looks like I need to rent some points and use cash again if DVC slots are that hard to get.

Not quite sure what you mean by exchange, DVC points are usable for the campsites, ranging from 7 to 14 pt per night and waiving the $95 fee.

Exchange was just a reference to trading out of DVC. I always thought FW was limited to the cabins. Learn something new every day.

Did you only call once? If so, I would suggest calling again, you may get a CM who can look more closely for you. It seems really odd that there is nothing. Do you think they are checking inventory in the right location (in the computer I mean)?

I would also ask if there is a supervisor you can speak too so you can find out how you would be able to book this in the future. Maybe you need to book waaay in advance.

Wow! Really... I can use my points there with no $95 Fee???
