So many people say things like "Avoid the EVENING EMH's at all costs!" ""Stay away from the EVENING EMH's at all parks!"
My quesion is simple...WHY?? :confused3

Because this summer the EMH evening parks have been positively packed. Only AK has gotten favorable reports. MK has been a zoo....

EMH evening at MK was more crowded than daytime crowds and there were no Fast Passes available.

I just got back and did the Epcot evening EMH and it was miserable. You really couldn't do very much as all the lines were so long and there were no Fast Passes available. Not to mention wall to wall people. So it was just a waste of time.

I think it depends on when you go. Right now with June/July/early Aug being some of the busiest months, night EMH are just too crowded. When we went in early May, we could just walk on most rides, but the most popular (Soarin', Test Track, Space Mountain), the lines were too long to wait.

If you are going in Late Aug/Sept/Oct, I would still give it a shot. Just have a backup plan if it is too crowded. My wife and I plan to do Epcot 9pm-Midnight EMH while my parents watch the kids back at the resort. Our backup plan if it is too busy is to go to Boardwalk's JellyRolls, Atlantic Dance Club, or take a bus over to Pleasure Island. We will probably leave by 11 anyway and go to JR.

I'm sure this time of the year with how hot it is during the days most people are doing other things and then waiting until the evenings to venture to the parks. Anyone know how like March and April just for an example would have been in the evenings??? Just curious if it is just the issue with the heat??

Oh, I agree. It definitely depends on when you're going. September's EMH should be wonderful compared to July. October to Mid-November...I'm not so sure.

However, with the new ticketing system and the fact that there are definitely folks out there who are not hopping between parks, there is definitely an effect on crowd levels. When MK is the EMH evening park, crowds are up all day in that park over a regular day. We noticed this in the second week in January, normally a very, very quiet time of the year. We couldn't believe the amount of people in the park, and then we saw people lining up for the wristbands. The MYW Tix and EMH together are an ugly mix....

And so whenever we venture over we look to see who's having the EMH evening and we avoid it. Works every time....well, except in the summer when it's just insanely crowded anyway.

We went to MGM EMH back in march and walked on the ToT about 7 times in a row with no lines.

We also were at MGM in March and didn't have lines for anything. It was the week before Easter, but they had an EMH on Friday evening and Sunday evening that week for some reason. My only complaint was the park wasn't very well lit that night.

We did EMH a couple of times in January and in May. While the parks we went to weren't wall to wall people, the lines were not any shorter than they had been during the day. We have done EE many times and walked right on. Maybe it does have something to do with the new ticketing system. I just figured most people would rather stay up late than get up early.
