Why ask for a non-handicap room?

We made reservations for WL in October and requested a King Size bedroom. However, after reading posts on these boards, I found that all, or almost all, of the King rooms at WL have the roll in shower. We changed to a standard queen room.

Sorry, but I just need a bathtub in a hotel room. Like I said in my previous post, I had to put towels all over the floor in DVC's Hilton Head resort to prevent anyone from slipping on the tile floor, which meant continuously asking housekeeping for additional towels. Then I learned that ALL of the studios in that resort are designed the same way.

Although I can certainly understand the need for HCA rooms, and I thank God for giving me & my family our health, I am curious why they chose to make all the studios HCA and all the King rooms at the WL HCA. Two weeks ago, I sent an email to Disney asking if they could tell me if any of the King rooms were HCA but also had bathtubs......no reply

Could you please give a solution to the problem then ? No sarcasm intended, I just want to know a viable solution from a "no grin and bear it" perspective.

I only see two solutions: Build a totally non- HC resort, but I think the law frowns on that. Or leave HC rooms empty if an HC guest is not availible.

The other solution I guess is to have a hissy fit at check-in so they make the next guest who checks in get the HC room.

...Are you certain all the studios are HC ? This is the first I've ever heard this.

I think there may be one or two that aren't HCA, but I think God Himself only knows which ones, because I couldn't find out prior to our trip (in an attempt to request one). We were in the main lodge, where every single studio was HCA.

I would be surprised if the 5 studios and 5 1brms under the GV's at HH are HCA. All of the HCA rooms are in the lodge and attached building (bldg 12) since 1st floor at HH is actually built off the ground and only accessible by steps. The lodge is the only area with an elevator. We arrive at HH on Sat and are staying in a studio the first night, so I'll ask about it.
