Why aren't all socal ap's blocked the last week of June?

How will that week with an unblocked socal pass compare to the end of July with all socal ap's blocked but higher numbers out of town visitors?

I am a Deluxe AP holder who planned to go in mid-July. We now have to change our plans to the last week in June. I assumed all SoCal passes would be blocked since the summer season will have started, but one of the socal pass is unblocked for the entire week! Why? Even if Disney wanted to give guests a final chance to visit the park before being blocked for the summer, why not limit the days they can visit that week to S-Tu like they are for the three previous weeks in June? :confused3

I want to know if crowds will be bad, but I already know they will be.

I am a DLR vet who knows all the rules and has had very successful trips even with crowds during the summer and Thanksgiving holidays. BUT I was in DL for the first day of the 2010 Christmas season and was terrified by the massive, wall to wall people type of crowds. I could not handle a repeat of that. Even a vet like myself did not enjoy DLR with crowds that huge.:crowded:

So, what am I in for during that last week of June? I've seen the touring plan numbers and they are 8's and 9's. Will it feel like a normal busy summer day or will it be worse than that???

It may be due to a lull before the storm. People will delay thier visit for the time off work.

At least the largest contingent of APs is blocked.

I guess they figure if they want to get people to get the SC AP instead of the cheaper SC Select, they are going to have to give them at least a few days in the summer. I would assume they picked a week they thought would be less busy and gave that one to them. Of course that means it'll be more busy and you can expect Friday, July 1st to be crazy crowded. :crowded:

Seems to be that the really crowded days are the last day before a big blockout period and the first day after.

Look for the week of Aug. 21st. to be crowded as well. I would expect June 6 & 7th and 13th and 14th to be extra busy too since that's the only days until Aug. 22nd that those APH can go.

Why the week of the 26th and not another week? Most of the local schools (AUHSD) last day is June 16th. So I assume the powers that be wanted to give the SC APH at least one full summer week early in the season when their kids were out of school and could go. They could just as easily have picked the week of the 19th-not sure why they didn't.:confused3

Luckily :confused3 for my DD11 and I when I got our AP in Dec. last year I didn't know what school she would be attending. She may have had traditional schedule or year round. I opted to get (Gulp!) Premium AP for us so I could pay for the whole thing monthly. (a Deluxe plus parking was almost as much as a Premium) Wouldn't you know that she got year round so we would have been fine with Deluxe or even one of the SC ones. She'll be off in Oct. 2011, Feb. 2012, and June 2012. At least when it comes time to get them after they expire, I should be okay with a cheaper one....but wait....I've heard that her school will be switching to traditional in July/Aug. 2012. She'll be off when everyone else is. :scared1: So still don't know what AP will get next time.

Well, having the Premium AP this year means that I may upgrade to a Premiere AP when we go to WDW in Oct. Only about $250 more (each) to give us all the time we want in the parks. :lovestruc

Sorry, I tend to wander....

As to your final question, it'll be worse than a normal summer day. Friday the 1st will be really bad-start of 4th of July weekend as well as last day for SC APH.
