On Dick Clark's NYE special? They are showing DisneyLand celebrating 2004 but it's only 9pm there?

I was just about to post that. At first I thought they were calling WDW "Disneyland," but it was definitely California. They were even showing fireworks from there.

I thought this was somewhat odd too. But, the Disneyland Resort probably held a fireworks show to tie in with the ABC special in New York. I'm sure they will be having another, "real" New Years firework show at midnight there time.

I'm sure that Walt Disney World had more than one show tonight as well.

We don't see these shows til midnight local time - so we end up celebrating NYE twice on the west coast - once at 9 PM local time, then again at midnight, local time!

I don't get it. If you don't see the show until midnight, why are you celebrating at 9pm?

On the bottom of our TV screen, it said, California segments were pre-recorded.

What I thought funny was the showed WDW's castle but put up type saying Disneyland. You would think ABC being owned by the same company would get it right.

I wish someone would record the fireworks Disney does on New Years Eve - that would make a great show! Personally I'd rather see that than Times Square.

I caught that immediately too and thought it was stupid! We were very confused! lol I was waiting for WDW!

I THOUGHT I saw that! But I just got a glimpse, and the next time they showed it, it was definitely DL CA. I want to see a NYE special where they show all the Disney celebrations around the world (they can pre-record Asia and Europe since I don't REALLY want to sit around my TV ALL day.)

I noticed this too. Everyone was saying "why are they showing california' and i was like, now ay, that's disney world!
weird.

tricia.

Every year I watch Jay Leno, knowing that he is in California, yet he goes to his "reporter" in New York Times Square. We're well aware of the fact that he's recording at 9 pm our time and we're seeing it at midnight - 3 hours after it was live. It really bugs people to have some pre-recorded segments or footage from another time zone?

They showed both disneyland and WDW side by side later in the night (about 1220) during fireworks

last night on nbc station they had a guy a wdw celebrating new years eve

Now I feel better. Last night I thought they were showing WDW when they said DisneyLand. Then later when they did it again it was DisneyLand. Nice to know others noticed. My hubby thought I lost my mind.
