I have been trying to reserve either Cake Class at Amorette's and Dining with an Imagineer....For the life of me, I can not find a time.
Should I stay up all night???....LOL!!

Last I checked, Dining with an Imagineer at Brown Derby was available only three times a week (MWF), and had total space for no more than around eight to ten guests each of those three days. The only way I was able to get it was to book it towards the end of my stay, using the 180+10. As it turned out, the imagineer I got was not in the field I'd hoped for, nor as knowledgeable of Disney history as I'd hoped for, and my food order turned out wrong. If I had it to do over, I'd skip the whole thing, although I think with a different imagineer, I might have liked it.

(I have no experience with booking the Cake Class.)

The cake decorating class is also small (like 14 I believe) and only Sunday-Thursday. Last year I did not attempt to get a reservation till about 60 days out. I searched daily and over time was able to find several openings (and this was for thanksgiving week which is one of the busier times). Keep checking. Especially around 60 days out when fast passes are booked and people start to finalize their plans.

The sizes of these events and frequency is small in comparison to demand. Consider how many people are visiting WDW every week with many wanting to have the perfect vacation. Relax. it sounds like you care and the plans you make will be fine. Don't fall into the Disney trap of thinking everything has to be perfect and all planned out. An Imagineer can be anyone from Finance, HR, Marketing, etc. You can take a cake decorating class at a lot of places which are more detail and personalized. I would not become obsessed with these offering. If they are meant to work out, they will; otherwise there are countless ways to make you trip special that are always under your control. :)

The cake decorating is really more of just doing 3 coats of the glaze(the shiny red part) then putting on the ears and dots. The cake itself was already put together and covered with a buttercream before it gets to you. I did it once but wouldn't do it again as it was a few hours long then my niece and I had to eat it over the course of the next 4 days. In the end it was just too much cake and we threw a third of it away.

thank you all for your advice. I am not going to stress over getting these ressies. If its meant to be, it will happen. I have done classes at the Publix apron school and my kids and I truly enjoyed it! I love disboards, you all are amazing!

I just cancelled Dine with an Imagineer for THIS week...July 5th...this morning for 5 people. It may still be out there if you can swing it. My son has chosen something else for his birthday.

I was able to reserve Dining with an Imagineer for 3, but it was for a trip that we planned well in advance. I used the 180+ in order to make my reservation. I have been able to come up with a reservation for 1 a couple of times for daughter who loves this experience. Just keep trying every day several times a day, if you are ok with dining for 1 or 2. Cancellations, but rarely! If you come across one, be ready to book!

The cake class is totally worth it. My husband and I did the very first one they offered for our anniversary. We were amazed that you got to decorate and take home the large cake and they were generous with beverages and we also got treats to take home. Maybe they were a selection of cookies if I remember correctly. It IS a lot of cake, but the experience for two foodies was awesome! I like the small class, you got a chance to really talk to the instructors, ie. chefs, and their back stories were interesting.
