why are there no parades in may in DL?

DisneyLand itself has not had any parades for a few months because they are reworking things to accomodate a new parade that so far has gotten a lot of good press - Soundsational.

DCA has too much construction on its parade route and in Spring 2010 Disney decided to drop parades at DCA. Expect to see a DCA parade in 2012.

They have what they call "popup parades" to work around the construction. I do not know what the current thing is but they do not have the Electrical Parade, for example, or any full blown parade that needs to use the parade route.

We happened upon one of the Pixar Popups recently and all I can say, IMHO, is I wouldn't go out of my way to see one. And from the looks on the guests around me, most of them agreed.

There were no parades whatsoever when we were there in March I have always loved the parades and was bummed since we had so many family members with us that have never been to DL and won't go again for a LONG time, the parades are an awesome part of the Disneyland experience!

Just a technicality. There are parades in May, but not until Mickey's Soundsational premiers on the 26th.

i am going in may when there are no splash and no parades.

MMM - doesn't seem that great does it. i am from the uk and haven't been since 2008. maybe i won't make the day trip. these are two main things that i enjoy.

will have to think about it.

Then what you should really be trying to see is the new World of Color show in DCA.
