Why Are There Cash Rooms Available But No DVC Rooms?

Yes, tipping is no big deal. My biggest concern while vacationing is spending time with my family with as little hassle and inconvenience as possible. The least amount of time wasted waiting around for bags, etc. is ideal.

Thank you for all of the advice! :)

That was my point, you take the risk of losing easily 2-3 hrs on each change. It might work OK but it might not. If you can get in a situation where you don't have to change rooms, you've eliminated that risk.

I just wanted to update everyone on this. We checked in to BWV on Monday at about noon. We got a great room, right above the store overlooking the BW. We promptly went to Epcot, and when we arrived back at 8:00pm or so, our bags were there from DME. We also called for our groceries to be brought up. No issues at all.

We left Wednesday morning for a day in HS. Had bell services come get our bags and groceries to be transferred to AKV. We arrived at AKV at around 7:30pm, checked in and had everything brought up to our room. We were out exploring by 8:00pm. Very easy transfer!

On Friday morning, we had bell services come get everything for our transfer back to BWV. Again, very seamless here. The only snag was when we checked into BWV and our reservation was a bit messed up. After fussing about this with check-in for about an hour, and then having to wait an hour for our room to be ready, we were off to Epcot for the night. We did swim at BWV and relax by the pool for the morning so it wasn't all wasted time. When we returned back to our room after the fireworks, bell services brought everything back to us.

Overall, it wasn't bad switching rooms so many times. It was actually very easy, and we planned everything so that we wouldn't be stuck in the rooms waiting. We enjoyed our vacation and had everything brought to the room when we knew it had arrived.

I'm glad that everything worked out.

I can tell you from experience that the more you do, the more changes, the more of anything, you run a greater risk of something going wrong.

In addition, if you do not check in early, the front desk may give your room to someone else so you run a greater risk of your location request not being met.

Exactly! We knew things would be hectic since we didn't book rooms until December, and we were expecting much worse, honestly. Overall, with everything that could have gone wrong, it really was nothing to cry over. And we ended up with what I thought was a great room.

Glad you wound up having a great trip despite the minor hassles. Cheers to you for many more wonderful trips "home."

I'm glad it worked out but there was risk. Planning can easily reduce the risk and/or the impact as you experienced.

Luckily, for our next trip we'll be able to plan better. We didn't have much of a choice this time around.
