Why are the TV's in the resorts so small???

Hey, I watch TV at Disney. I watch the same Disney informercial again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.

Dang, I wish I could buy a tape of those things.
They took out the Disney tip of the day though. I loved watching that! Now I hate the infomercial they have on now. And that girl is SO annoying!

Just read about the new TV's and the ones at POP. Has anyone stayed at PO-FQ since their rehab, and if so, did they change their TV's yet?

I stayed in POFQ in October (and loved it!), and yes they have new larger TVs. They must be 25" or 27", and although I don't watch too much TV at WDW, I do enjoy having a larger TV to watch while watching the news when getting ready/going to bed.

Personally, I think all of the Deluxe Resorts should have at least a 27" t.v. I know it isn't popular to criticize, but for the amount of money people are spending on these rooms, a decent size t.v. should be a given.

I have stayed in quite a few 4* hotels and haven't had a 19-20 inch t.v. in years.

I don't care if I don't watch it, it should be there just because you are calling yourself a "deluxe resort". It goes with the territory.

Besides, tv's are SO cheap these days, it's hard to justify.

Just my two cents, of course.

The old resort standard was the 19" Sony flatscreen. Now, they're going with a cheaper RCA 27". Picture quality isn't as nice as the Sony, but it has a bigger screen, so who cares. :)

Is that the girl from the Top Ten Atractions at WDW? I bet I saw that 20 times. The kids watch a little TV before bed and during snacks, and they liked that one.

The Top Attraction? Drum Roll........................

Mission Space.

(now, back to the TV's. Don't mean to threadjack).

Who goes to WDW to watch tv??

ITA except I will say I like to cuddle up with DS and listen to those bedtime stories. He never seems to get sick of them over and over every night. :)

My DH commented the other night that the one thing he found a little strange was how small the TV's were at the WDW resorts. We generally stay either deluxe or concierge but our goal is to try all the resorts at least once. Back to my ? , is there a reason for this????

WHO GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE WORLD TO WATCH TV?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! :jumping4:

They don't want you in the room watching TV...they want you out on the property spending money!!!

My BF said the same thing when we were there in September, "why is the TV so small" and then answered his own question!

Just like, "why don't they offer cable TV at the casino resorts?" Because they don't want you in the room! They want you on the floor spending money!!

I have always been able to get the 4 local channels... ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, the Disney Channel, ToonDisney, ESPN, and some of the others owned by Disney. They are usually fine by me.

Yes, the top 10 of the day girl is a bit annoying... especially the 10th time in one morning!

You have got to be kidding with the "who goes to WDW to watch TV" Yes I leave my home to go to Fla to watch TV. LOL. I have 3 small children under 4 yrs old. We often go to WDW for more than a week. I generally keep them on their normal schedule which means a nap in the afternoon and bed by 8 pm. So horrors of horrors , yes my DH and I usually watch TV when we vacation. We also own DVC so the TV thing isn't such a big deal since the DVC resort TVs are Ok and even have free DVD rentals. It was just an observation that for such a costly room the TV's didn't seem to match the other amenities.

I noticed they were small as well. I like to watch tv in the am and again at night no matter how late it is
I think trhy are so small so youll go out and buy stuff

We fall asleep and wake up with the TV. At French Quarte they were 20 inch TVs but at Carribbean Beach I think it was smaller then that! What annoys me more is not having any movie channels or music channels (except BMT). Sometimes you want to listen to some music in the morning! And every room we have had the alarm clock just beeped - there was no radio.

Thank goodness for the TVs! What would I do without them whether it be 19 or 27". When we are in our rooms resting, the kids like to watch Nick Jr and Disney and whatever is good on tv...while I take my nap. The kids don't nap...but I need my nap. So it works out just fine.
