Why are sail dates pulled?

It serves them right not being able to sell cruises. This new website is awful. DCL should be embarrassed.

I absolutely agree! While a lot of what they did with the WDW website was an improvement, it appears that they have gone back to their tradition of hiring some very incompetent people to do their website design. Obviously people who never tried to book a cruise in their life before. The new resort availability tool on the DVC website is equally stupid...

Why is the Western less popular?

I don't know why specifically, but I can guess four reasons. If you look at cruise pricing, Western is historically lower than Eastern most of the time.:

1. Mexico
2. Tendering at Grand Cayman
3. Jamaica
4. One less sea day

These are all reasons that I would choose an Eastern over a Western (we are doing our first Western next November, unless we go on an earlier cruise other than the one we take less than three weeks from now). Your mileage may vary.
