Why are people so petty?

Our boss took the admin. assts. to lunch for a belated "Secretaries Day" treat. One co-worker is so mad that they got to go and no one else did. Just let them have a nice time and mind your own business. It's for SECRETARIES day and she isn't one...I don't get it.

Yep! I just have patience for this stuff...esp. after seeing my mom suffer from her illness and then her passing in July.

There are just people who think they are "entitled" to get everything. There is a woman who works in my corporate office who is like this. She is on overhead, the rest of us work against the contract. We do totally different things then her. Yet, she gripes when any of us get a raise or a bonus that comes from the client. Nevermind that WE all have to pay for parking or that we don't get to wear jeans to work. She wants every perk that comes with HER job and then what we get too. It is absolutely ridiculous and she gets downright petty about it. I hate it.

I've got one petty coworker who keeps targeting me. I can't figure out why she has decided to hone in on me lately. She saw me at lunch with my SO at a corner Deli, and she comes running over while we were holding hands and screams" Is that your dad". Then I found out that she keeps asking other people personal questions about me, and about what my private life is like. I wish that she would just back off, I can't stand her!

Me too!

I worked as an accountant in a small CPA office years ago, and I was the only woman accountant...all the other women were secretaries; and I was a little offended when I DID get flowers on Secretaries Day. Nothing wrong with being a secretary, but I wasn't one...I should have been included in the giving, not the receiving.

I am a secretary and this is what my boss said to me.

"Um, I would like to take you out for breakfast for um "Admin, um paperworker or what is that day called yesterday."

At first I didn't say anything and the next day was Friday so I knew that was a no-go and I knew he would be gone, this week, and I said, "ya maybe in the summer when things aren't so busy". What a complete Bozo.

That is so funny! I do that with signs around here that say "We Buy Houses". At first glance, I always think it says "We Buy Horses". The first few times I used to think ... "I didn't think that many people around here owned horses." Now I just think - "what a dumb bunny"!
