why are paper tickets still coming with magic bands?

Not everyone likes the MB, some still prefer the cards and request them.

fyi, the yellow discount card is no longer issued, it's just the 1 card for AP now and you use that (or your magic band) to get the discount.

They must have stopped this since July because I got one when I renewed

Anyhoo, if I have the hard/plastic tickets are they still linked to our MBs or do I need to call the DVC to make sure they are linked? We won't use the cards unless absolutely needed. I feel like such a newb right now. Ugh. Thanks for any and all help!

Your hard tickets should be linked to your MDE account. But if you want to make sure then all you have to do is click on the MagicBands and cards section of your MDE to see if the code number on the hard ticket is listed as one of your cards. It should be there. If not, then you can link it yourself by clicking on the link to add tickets.

It is a very recent change. We just renewed our AP in November and did not receive the merchandise cards when we were sent the AP MB's. I guess they stopped sending them sometime after they introduced to new AP's. Another new thing is that your renewed AP's are active right away instead of having to activate them before first use.

Yes, it stopped sometime in august. When I got mine at the end of august I was told it was just the single card and show that for discounts.

Interesting thing about the AP and getting a yellow card. I've gotten an AP twice in the last four years and have never gotten a yellow card. Anytime I used the discount option, I simply showed my regurlar AP.
