Why are Members magical?

This thread is cracking me up! You guys are a riot!

I have to say that I really agree with you. In the last two years or so, the stuff that the DVC sends me is getting more and more sad looking.

Like that Boardwalk sellout card that was crooked. Im just a humble systems guy, and I don't know anything about advertising. But a crooked boardwalk picture on the card seemed sort of basically wrong.

And that cheesy Members Are Magical thing is kind of sad. I wish they would bring back If You Believe In Magic You Belong. That always made me grin. (And please use Vacation Magic to tell me about DISNEY! I am sure that the families featured in VM are wonderful people and I am happy for them that they had that experience. But unless it's MY family being featured, I'd rather hear about DISNEY!)

On one hand we have this new guy telling us that there is cache to being a member. But on the other their advertising people are sending us these tacky things. It's like they either don't care about what they are doing, or they don't know what they are doing.

I know. In the grand scheme of thngs, it doesn't really matter. I just don't remember the stuff they would send members a few years ago being so sad. Feel free to flame. This is just a little thing that has been buggin me for a while. Thanks for providing a forum for venting!

Ya, my hubby bought me a hooded zip warm up type jacket on his recent trip. It is navy and has the mountain logo pretty big on the back, the front has a small Members are Magical logo. I admit it seems a little gay to me. I'm fine wearing it, but for a guy to walk around wearing it seems a little bit, well... Like Hey, I'm watching sports in my DVC jacket and darn if I'm not magical! Know what I mean? Not very macho. Course, many guys that love Disney are a little ~magical~ so I guess it is OK for some!

Oh, and I do like the If you believe in magic you belong... That is neat. I still have a screen saver that has that on it. Anyone else still got that on their comp?

I have it but don't use it. It crashes everything I have that it touches. Well, I've not tried it on my mac since I upgraded to X, but the PC will eventually go paws up and require a reboot...they need that often enough as it is, so I don't need more rebooting that necessary.
