Why are MB's for sale?

Saw on another post that they sell for $12.95 and they showed a sign.

why are they selling them? Don't they still mail them out to you when you make a reservation to stay?

Also, when I booked my latest they told me to customize by whatever date and have new ones sent.

I assume my old MB will still work as well (only from Feb this year)? Is there any way to tell them "don't send more - I have one!"?

for staying onsite, yes.

for those staying offsite, they sell them.

oh. Well then. I guess that makes sense.

Do offsite get a RFID card then? Or just a paper ticket (how's that work with FP+?) Seems like a waste to purchase an MB unless you have annual tickets or something in that case.

All current ticket media is RFID enabled.

Annual Passholders with a US mailing address are also sent MagicBands.

Thanks for the info!

To my other first question; is there any way for me to tell them I still have my MB and don't need another?

If you don't customize them, they will not be mailed out. When you arrive at the resort, refuse the un-customized grey bands that will be waiting for you at check-in.

Thanks. I guess that's one way to go! :)

They need to add a better method in MDE to tell them "I still have mine" since that's part of the idea of them! :)

In Feb, they sent them to me and also had grey ones at the hotel, and it seemed like such a waste that those grey ones were basically garbage. Not good for the environment! At least, I think they were garbage. At the very least, I think they had our names on the box if I recall.

Stupid question but if we have bands from an on site trip can we reuse them for an off site trip and add the new tickets to them.

Yes. The bands should read any tickets you link to your MDX account as long as you do not deactivate those bands (you have to do that manually in MDX).

They sell them because they need to make the billions back. Why do you think they have the limited edition Star Wars bands for $30.00 for this weekend SWW.

Not sure what you mean by garbage, they will all work until you deactivate them. We have several now from several different trips, use them interchangeably!

I have one of every color and two grey ones from multiple stays since October. I love having multiple bands...I color coordinate them with what I'm wearing! :thumbsup2

I'm so easy...I SO want a Rebel Alliance one! :)

We will be off-site, so I was only going to purchase MBs for the kids. But, now that I have read about the Star Wars ones, I am betting my husband will want one. Hope they discount them by next month.

They sell them because it's marketing genius. People will buy them so why not sell them? :confused3
