Why are husbands such Disney haters?

My dh gets a little wacky about crowds and the girls. Like they are going to disappear or our stroller will get stolen. He also spent the whole time saying, "this is small" since he hadn't been there since 1979. LOL

I've already told him that next time he has to act all amazed even if he isn't for the girls' sake. Hopefully knowing that we've been (quite) a few times without him without problems will help him relax.

I'm also planning some babysitters one evening so that we can take a couple hours for adult time. That might help your hubby.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones too. :) My DBF is the one who says "when's our next Disney weekend?" LOL He's as addicted as the rest of us are. :)

Well, I have to say there was a time when I thought my DH was not interested in DL. But, I think now that it was the pressure of everyday life. I wish I had thought of the special Disney account like an earlier poster mentioned. When we went with the kids it seemed difficult to get him there, but he was always the one having the most fun, once we were there. So, as our kids grew up and left the nest I thought this is it for my Disney trips. Luckily for me I have a few gal pals that love to go even though their children are grown as well, we have a blast together.
But, back to my Hubby. About 8 or 9 months ago he took me for my birthday, just the two of us. He had so much fun by the end of our little vacation he purchased an AP!!!:confused3 go figure. Now, we stop by for a couple rides, and something to eat when ever we are close enough. :woohoo:  :cool1: Who would have guessed?!?! One thing I will say, I will keep him away on crowded holidays I think that would make him GRUMPY..

WOW!! I feel totally lucky. My DH loves DLR as much as I do. We are planning 3 trips in the next year and I was thinking about canceling one of them :scared1: and saving the money for some stuff for our house. Nothing major, just stuff that makes our lives a little easier. He reminded me that our kids will remember events/vacations/time together rather than a new sprinkler system or new interior doors. LOL So, I gave up on being practical and am enjoying the fact that he loves DLR as much as I do. He's a keeper, for sure.

I kinda have the opposite problem. My husband loves disney. In fact I have a really hard time getting him to go on vacation anywhere else. The only way I got him to Europe was on the Med cruise on DCL. He is always calling me at work with prices for different vacation packs to either Disneyland or WDW.

I think DangerMouse hit on why my dh is not that into it. He has a great time when we go, but we do spend a lot of money on it and he's the one footing the bill. I like the idea of the Disney account, but as a SAHM it would be hard for me to save up very much. I have often wished I could do something PT from home just to save for DL! Next year all the girls will be in school so I will have more options.

In addition, though, he really doesn't want to go more than once a year. It wouldn't matter if it were free, he just doesn't have the Disney obsession that I have. I went in Oct, Nov, Jan, and Feb and will be there again in Aug. It seems like the more I go, the more I crave it!

I am a husband and I can't wait to make each trip to DL. More than often two times a week. And NO burn-out

It was my DH that showed all the neat little tid bits you find DL. He had me really listen as we walked down mainstreet, pointed out the Queen in the window and told me why there was a light in the room above the FireHouse. I never that until I met my DH.

That being said he jokes that I'm having an affair with Disney:lmao: He's always joking, "soo how's it going with *him*?!!"

He created a Disney monster!!!

This thread kind of made me chuckle - as the men in my family have never really been near the level of Dis-obsession that the woman are - and have normally been the "cranky counterparts"...until I met my boyfriend...we are not even officially engaged yet (but have talked of marriage) and he is letting me move ahead with preparations for a WDW wedding! He has only come with us to WDW once - but his opinion after the trip was "Why would I ever want to travel anywhere else?"

I am so lucky!

Sounds like a keeper:lovestruc

My DH was not always a Disney lover, but I have converted him. :cool1: The trick was to show him that not all of DL and WDW were about Mickey Mouse or were for little kids. I recommend showing him the grown up stuff - worked for me! :thumbsup2
