I mean haven't they been around for a while? Shouldnt the price be coming down on them. I checked out ebay but if they are a decent bidding price then the shipping is enormous. My DS has been wanting these forever but I just cant shell out that kind of money for a shoe he's going to outgrow in months....

I know a lot of places are banning them. Children in our area can't wear them to school or in some of the stores. Too much of a liability.

I don't know if the sale is still going on, but Finish Line had Heelys on sale both on their website and at their stores. I got my niece a pair for $40 about
2 weeks ago.

See I guess im just a cheapskate :rolleyes1 but even 40 bucks is too much for me to shell out for these since I know he will grow out of them quickly and they wont be his main shoe to wear.

If you do buy them, don't bring them to Disney World. The following is from the Theme Parks FAQ on www.disneyworld.com:

Q. Are there any personal items I should not bring with me into the Theme Parks?
A. Items that you may not bring into the Theme Parks include, but are not limited to:

* Items with wheels, such as wagons, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, shoes with built-in wheels, two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances, strollers larger than 36" x 52", suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations), and any trailer-like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV wheelchair or stroller
* Alcoholic beverages
* Weapons of any kind
* Folding chairs
* Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)
* Pets (unless they are service animals)
* In Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws and drink lids are not permitted.

my daughter had her heelys on in disney this september and noone said anything. I also seen alot of chikdren wearing them and skating in the parks during our 2 week vaca.

We decided we are going to buy the boys heeleys from now on. They are the only shoes that last my guys. The wheels get on my nerves, but the shoes are good

all on a large table together and had to sift through them, but price and selection were good.

I've never researched them, but is Heelys a brand name? If not, I saw Walmart has some shoes with wheels on them (they look like Heelys to me) on sale Black Friday for $20.

I did see that finish line has them on clearence they were cheaper than what I paid for them 1o months ago.

my costco had tons today as well.

Heeleys is the brand name and they really do roll better and hold up longer.

check ebay and craigslist. everyone who got them last year for Christmas has outgrown them! :rotfl2: I know mine are going up on craigslist.

shipping would be awful as they are a very heavy shoe!

Hi, I just got a pair for ds at modells.com. They were originally 69.99 but on sale for 45.99, I believe, plus free shipping! I thought this was a great deal. They do hold up very well. Just remember to buy a size bigger since they run small! :thumbsup2

I just got some today at Dick's Sporting Goods on clearance for $39.99. They had a bunch of boys and girls sizes.

Because they are the devil's plaything. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Mervyn's has them on sale for $44.99 today and the first 250 customers in the store got $10 giftcard to spend which would brought the price down to $34.99. I think the sale ended today though.

Keep checking with Mervyn's though. They go on sale often, sometimes when Mervyn's is offering the extra 15% off to their credit card holders. I have a hard time finding the right size in stock, so even if I can't find the right size, I buy a pair when they are on sale and then keep checking back for the right size and do an exchange.

My DD LOVES hers and wears them alot!!! There are a few places that they ask her not to heely but most couldn't care less!! They are soooooo fun!

I bought a pair of the imitation ones because I was too cheap to buy Heely's! Big mistake - 1st thing - the business of retracting and releasing the wheels for skating is too stiff and difficult to manage. 2nd thing - DH has had to repair the wheel mechanism more than once. 3rd - the shoe was too heavy and uncomfortable - always had to travel with a Plan B shoe whenever she wore them, because eventually she'd complain that her feet hurt!

She's practically outgrown them now, and never got to use them much because of the problems! She's asked for another pair for Christmas - not happening! I told her I'd rather buy a skateboard - at least her foot won't outgrow that!

AND she won't be tempted to use the skateboard in a location where plain old common sense would indicate it shouldn't be used - schools, stores, malls, buildings, stairs, theme parks... :rotfl:
