Why are crowds projected to be so high first week of March?

We will be in the parks March 4-6th, Thursday to Sat. and will have to leave around 1:00 on Sat. I thought I was being clever by picking a window where the business of Winter breaks would be over but Spring breaks wouldn't have started yet.

I knew the Saturday would be packed but was hoping for quieter days on Thursday and Friday. The Crowd Calendars suggest it will be busy but the park hours are short UO closing at 6, IOA at 5 and there are still APH rates available at all the hotels. I feel like I'm getting mixed signals.

It won't change our plans, I'm just curious to see if anyone has any insight as to what I might be missing.

That's in the midst of the Mardi Gras food fest and there could be SOME spring breaks at that time.

One calendar I looked at shows March /4 as a crowd level 1 the 5th a 2, another says Moderate.
I wouldn’t be too concerned. Just arrive early.
