I'm not completely sure about having to be there before the park closes to the public, that's just what she told us.

Same here. In two EMH nights at MGM rode RnRC 14 times and ToT 10!lomillerin said:We were just there from Jan. 16th to Jan. 20th and loved the late nights. They were not crowded at all.
NeverlandClub23 said:We asked a CM the last time we were there and she says that only people with the wristbands are allowed in the park and they do check them before every ride. She said there are also people walking around the park to make sure that people with wristbands are the only one's in the park. If you are already in the park you have to go to certain locations to get a wristband and if you come in to the park you have to be there before the park closes to the public and you get your wristband at the gate (we had to show our room passes as well as our tickets) Almost everything remains open, a lot of the popular rides, stores, and some restaraunts. If you have PS at a place and don't have your wristband you can get it when you get out. I love EMH at night. I have never gotten up early to go to a park! If MK closes at 9 to the public then it's open until 12 for resort guests, as an example.

I've been reading about EMH nights being available to WDW resort guests, and I have a couple of questions regarding my upcoming visit:
1) How do they work? Will they close a particular park early on a certain day, or do they just tack on the extra 3 hours after regular closing?
2) We will be there in October. Is this a temporary trial thing, or do they plan to do this long term?
3) My understanding is during EMH, only WDW resort guests can ride the rides, but anyone else can stay and do other things (which I guess means shops, restaurants, etc.). Is this correct?
Your help is greatly appreciated. We always stay off-site (we have connections to a free vacation home) and want to know how I should plan for our October trip. Thanks!
Did you also tour the parks duiring regular hours on the day that they had the EMH (late) scheduled? If so how were the crowds? I know it won't compare to the June crowds but any information is better then no information.Angel1 said:My family just got back tonight. We did NO mornings, when we normally would have, and we did all four evening hours.
MK was empty. It was raining a bit that night, which probably drove people home. MGM wasn't as empty as I'd hoped. I found Edcot and AK disappointing, with just not enough stuff open.
Still a good deal...kutchyone said:Thanks for the information. I think we will avoid the EMH (late) parks duiring the day and will "hop" over later in the day to stay and then enjoy the EMH. Oh well, Disney got me again, it looks like I have to pay for hopper to be added on our tickets as an option. Our two 10 day no expiration with tax and delivery have now gone from $311 each to $345. Maybe I should stop thinking this out because every time I do I add on more money to this trip!
