Why am I not excited?

Balance it out. I have the Disney spreadsheet and yes my family thinks I'm crazy, but now actually follows the touring plan when I give it to them. We tried a no ADR, no planning vacation last time and it was still great, but I was stressing more trying to find the last minute fastpass or ADR. My advice - embrace your inner Disney planning OCD and not sweat it when something goes wrong when you are there. If you really are Disney OCD, like me, you will get more and more excited the more you read, research, plan and book your vacation. Anyway, you will have a great time when you are there!

I think you're so far out, it's fine to not be over-crazy excited...if you were you'd prob drive yourself nuts for the next 6 months. Personally, it's exciting to book and get a date set in stone. Dies down...Exciting again when it's time to make ADRs. Dies down....then excitement when FP window opens at 60 days. Dies down again...then maybe 45-30 days start getting hyper and the detailed planning comes in :) But that's just me.

To me planning seems more tedious all the time and now I don't feel excited until we're actually there, but that's what counts
