I was asked for it just 2x right after they implemented the change but now and about a dozen adrs later, I have not been asked for my cc to book any of them. Also, i was able to book multiple adrs at around the same time. I will cancel the others long before we go, but thought for sure it wouldn't let me.

Anyone else noticing this?

A credit card is needed for signature restaurants and those that have a character meal at any time of the day. Ohana has a character breakfast but you will still be asked for a cc for a dinner ADR where there are no characters.

Are you sure the restaurants where you made your ADRs require a credit card?

I think it depends on where you're eating. For example when I booked at LeCellier and Akershus, they asked for a CC#. When I booked at CRT, they asked me to pre-pay. When I booked at Whispering Canyon, Liberty Tree Tavern, and a couple others, they didn't ask me for CC#s. I suppose only the most popular ones require a cc-hold.

Not all restaurants require the credit card hold. There are 19 that require a hold and 4 that are fully prepaid at booking. The list is above.

Aha! Thanks guys! I guess I bobbed and weaved around those 19 and didnt even know it! I have ADR's at lots of places except those. Thanks again

I have ADR's for the Crystal Palace, Akershus and Le Cellier and the only one that asked for a cc was Le Cellier. Weird!

I managed to get Mickey's Backyard BBQ reservation for upcoming trip and booked online with cc guarantee but my cc hasn't been charged. Is it because the reservation is linked to my dining plan?

When I made my ADRs for my upcoming May trip, I purposely avoided making ADRs for any restaurant that required a cc guarantee. Even though I love the Signature restaurants, I avoided them for the May trip and booked at places like Shulas, Il Mulino, Blue Zoo, upstairs Wolfgang Pucks, and Bistro de Paris. (I know since the first of the year WGP and Bistro has started taking the DDP and now require a cc guaranteee, but they didn't when I booked them, so I slipped through.) I have the TiW card, so know there are good nonDisney owned restaurants available to me that don't require the cc guarantee.

My husband and I are taking our 3 y/o GS for his first WDW trip in Feb. I made alot of ADRs for character meals for him, before they instituted the new cc rule. As soon as they announced that any ADR made after Oct 26th would required a cc guarantee, I went in and made a bunch more before the Oct 26th deadline. I've since wanted to rearrange a couple, but won't because I know any new ADR I make will require that cc guarantee and I'm not willing to do that. Even though I have the TiW card, the DxDDP worked out cheaper for the Feb trip, but now we have alot of meal credits to use. We plan on keeping every ADR we've made, but who knows what might come up with a 3 y/o.

I'll be making ADRs at 180 days out for my upcoming Sept and Oct/Nov trips, but again will intentionally be making ADRs only at restaurants that don't required the cc guarantee. I'll be making those ADRs for around my usual 7:30pm. Once I'm down there I'll probably try to my luck right at opening at some of my favorite Signatures.

How far in advance to you have to cancel ADR before they charge you credit card?

Yes, I linked to my dining plan when I made our ADRs. I have Cinderella's Round Table and wasn't charged, just gave card for a hold.
