Why am I feeling bloated!!!!

Hello all,

End of wk4 of SBD and have been doing ok - 10lbs down - but yesterday and today been feeling very bloated like I have eaten bread or pasta and I have not, anyone else had this?

I have lost lots of weight on my legs, face - but my tummy just seems to have popped out - what is happening!!!!!

Am going to go back to phase1 for a week or so to see if it makes any difference.

Hi Nat,

I've been retaining a lot of water since I finished Phase 1 too. My rings are tight and my feet and hands are a bit swollen. I think I need to drink more fluids. Do you think you're getting enough water? Also, if you tummy seems bigger, maybe you're constipated. You probably already know this, but the diet recommends taking some sugar free Metamucil before meals to not only help you feel full for longer but also to keep you regular. I need to start doing this more often because I have that problem anyways and this diet hasn't helped much with that!

How is the diet going for you otherwise? I'm trying not to get discouraged but I haven't lost anything since I started Phase 2! :confused: I know since I'm getting close to my goal weight, it's going to take a while but I'm starting my 3rd week of Phase 2 and I would have thought I'd lose at least another pound by now.
I'm going to try to increase my exercise this week (I've been slacking) and hope that will help!

I think I might need to up my water intake abit and I have not been taking sugarfree metamucil - am I ment to take before every meal?

I guess cos I lost so much weight the first 2wks you expect to keep losing lots, but I have really slowed down and I have another 20-25lbs to go!!!

I was thinking of moving to Atkins as people seem to be losing each week.

Re exercise - have not done any, but I am going back to work next week after 6mts off of maternity leave and my work has a gym so plan to join as at the moment don't get a chance with 2 kids!!!

I guess we have to keep on going - good luck.

I'm doing Atkins, but I had that experience one night too.

I made some broccoli cheese soup. Fresh broccoli, chicken broth and shredded velveeta. After eating I felt horrible. Full, bloated and uncomfortable, just like I used to when I ate bread or pasta. That's all I ate that night so it had to be one of those 3 things. The velveeta listed 2 g of sugar, but it wasn't on the list of ingredients so I thought it was naturally occuring and I would chance it. Never again.

I hope you figure out what made you feel bad so you can avoid it in the future.
