Why All the Acronyms?

Hi,

I'm relatively new to the boards and noticed that most posters use acronyms when discussing all things Disney. Is there a reason for this other than it saves time while posting? As for me, I find that I have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out what they all stand for while reading the posts. Just wondering how everyone else feels about this?

I have been around on Internet forums for years and they all seem to have their own shorthand. Just makes for easier typing- it is a lot easier to use IASW than to type out It's a Small World every time. And for anonymity people don't like to use names of family and friends so DH, DD, DS, BF are easier than "my 15 year old daughter", my husband etc

There is a list of acronyms stickied at the top of this page. Many people like to print it out to look at. After awhile you get the hang of it.

Thanks for the explanation. It makes more sense now. I have the list of abbreviations next to my computer and I'm ready to go!
