Whose name do I book?

I called to check on availability today for a potential booking for our friends - who will be staying on our points. The CM told me I had to reserve the room in our friends' names/address etc. I thought we were allowed to use our name for the reservation. How does this all work?

Unless you will be staying in the room, their names will need to be in the reservation or they won't even be able to check in. DVC has been requiring names of all those on the reservation for some time now, so this is nothing new.

It's standard practice everywhere - not just dvc. If the reservation is for John Smith, then Mary Brown can't check in....the name on the reservation has to match the name of the person/people staying in that room.
