First off, GOOD LUCK TOMORROW! I hope its not as bad as you think its going to be.

Secondly, little Johnny is such a good kid! He was abused by 2 different kids in one day and still was nice enough to help someone else feel better about riding something they were apprehensive about...thats a good kid right there :thumbsup2

Hope everything want ok. I love the photo of your DS bitting mickeys nose!

I am LOVING this TR! Your kids are adorable, and I love all the pictures. TR's like this seriously make me want kids NOW to take to Disney. You have some great pictures of Spectro and the Obsourne lights, so beautiful. OH and I love the surprise in the room, that is just awesome! I know the kids were ecstatic about it!

Hope everything went well w/the ultrasound!

Yay another update! Sounds like a fun afternoon, even more fun than the morning! i hope your ultrasound goes well tomorrow and isn't as painful as you think

I survived with flying colors! I took some motrin before I went and that help a bit!

It went well! Not to bad!

Johnny is my angel!!! I tell him every night before he goes to sleep that he's my angel here on earth! He's so sweet! I went into his room last night about a half an hour after the kids went to bed to check on him and he told me "Mommy I was just going to cry" I asked him why and he said "cause when I get to be a big man I don't get to see you all the time anymore" Oh my god I nearly cryed!! I told that didn't have to be true and he could live close to me and we could see each other everyday if he wanted. He was happy with that.

Hope everything want ok. I love the photo of your DS bitting mickeys nose!

All is good!! Ryan is too funny! I haven't figured out why he won't pucker! LOL! Everytime he saw a character he took the binky out and opened his mouth to kiss them!! :rotfl2: I try not to think about all the other kids who have kissed and touched those noses!

Aww, thanks! I think my kiddos are pretty adorable too ;) We love taking them to WDW. Seeing it through their eyes is so much fun! The family time is awesome and something we'll never forget!

The ultrasound went well! It wasn't to terribly bad! I'm interested to see what the results are  I'd actually love to see the pictures while they do it but I know their not allowed to show me, oh well!

My ultrasound yesterday went well! It really wasn't too bad. I took some motrin before I left to try and make it a little better! I think it helped! Thank you all for all your well wishes! Now all I have to so is get my blood drawn and wait to see the doctor on the 23rd.

After the ultrasound yesterday DH and I went to the car dealer because the lease on my minivan is up the end of this month. We went in knowing that there was no way we would do anything that had us coming out paying more per month then we are now.

We told the dealer that we were considering buying the car we have now off the lease, we had to wait and call the leasing company to see if they would come down on the price until we came home.

We spoke to the dealer about lease a new one and we spoke about financing a new one. It turned out that we could finance a new one for less then we pay a month now! DH and I were really excited and we decided on our way home that we would mostly like finance the new one. DH called the leasing company and they wouldn't come down on price to finance the one we have now. The price to finance the van we have now, which is now 2 1/2 years old, was actually $50 more a month then to finance the new one :confused3 Crazy!

DH was really happy!! He said it was the first time he's ever walked out of car dealership wowed!! LOL!!

So the paperwork is all filled out, DH went and did that this morning before he went to a meeting!

Yippeee!!!

Now on to the update!!!

Day 3 part 3!

We ventured toward the front of DHS. We stopped so I could go into Keystone Clothier. They had a sweater I had seen walking by in the way in that I really liked. I had money in my pocket that I had been given for my b-day. That money was calling to me "Melissa, go buy that sweater!" So I did!!! So cute!! Bold, bright colored strips!!! I love it! It says Mickey up on one of the lapels and has a mickey on the pocket. Unfortunately my bad puppy put a big whole in it since we've been home :sad1: I have to see if I can fix it. If I can't DH promised me a new one next month cause I was so upset when I found the whole! URRRGGHH!!!

So after my little bit of shopping, BTW they have really cute womens stuff in Keystone Clothier ;), we headed for the bus stop.

By the time we got back to WL it was around 5 I believe, give or take. The kiddos were very excited to go for a swim and use the slide! So they changed lickety spilt! I wish they changed in the morning for school that quick  and they headed for the pool with DH.

Ryan and I hung out in the room for awhile. He played and ran around and acted silly. I loved that I could see the kiddos and DH in the pool and watch them go down the slide!!!

After a little Ryan and I decided to go for a walk! We left the room and he loved walking in the hall!! Then down to the lobby. Again he loved walking in the lobby and loved the bridge!! I wish I could have taken pictures! But he's too quick. If I had stopped to take the lens cap off and turn the camera on he would have been 50 feet from me. Oh well. Then we headed outside! We went over to the pool and he thought daddy and his brother and sister in the pool was hysterical! :lmao: The funny this was I thought he'd get all anxious to get in with them but he wasn't :confused3 what do I know?

DH said they were about to get out because it was dark at that point and a little chilly. So we all headed back to the room.

I put all three kiddos in the tub together. Again something Ryan thought was hysterical! At home he takes a bath in the kitchen sink and the big kids take showers!

After the bath, which seemed to have taken forever, we put the kids in their pj’s and took them down to Roaring Forks for a light dinner. The kids thought it was great that we took them out in their pj’s!!

The kiddos again had chicken nuggets and some deserts. I picked a side salad and a realllllllly huge cupcake. I can’t remember what DH had! Everything was good! The salad was nice, light & fresh and I learned later the way to go if I wanted a salad in Roaring Forks :rolleyes2 The cupcake I had I shared with DD a bit and was soooo good!! Yummy!!

I’m going to take you a little aside from things here and share with you something we saw that completely appalled and annoyed me; While we were in Roaring Forks there was a table with 2 couple, probably about the same age as DH and I, Early 30s. The one couple had 2 little ones with them. The mom stood up to help the little girl with something and when she went to sit back down she must have sat right on the edge of the chair. The chair came out from under her and she hit the ground hard. She hit her head on the chair hard. Her hitting her head was so hard it made a sound that we heard ½ way across the room (all be it not a big room) She sat there for a minute looking completely stunned and then got up. Her friend gave her some Tylenol or something because she hit her head. The thing was her husband didn’t react at all. If I had fallen like that DH would have jumped out of his seat before I hit the ground to help me and make sure I was ok!

After a few minutes she got up and left the table and took the kids outside. All I could think was, holy cow! She just hit her head sooo hard and now she’s left with the kids. What happens if she passes out? The kids couldn’t have been older than 2 and 3. Her husband didn’t say no, sit and rest. He let her leave!

About 5 minutes later her DH and the other couple got up and left. I turned to DH and asked him if he saw all that. He said yes and why the heck didn’t that man do anything to help his wife? He also said he thought about going over to help her up but figured he didn’t want to butt in. I mentioned I couldn’t believe he let her leave after hitting her head so hard!

So, we cleared our stuff and went to walk back to the room. I said something to DH about what kind of man that guy was and I wish I was the type of person to give him a piece of my mind! DH said “Well now’s your chance” the group of them was walking in one of the doors from outside. The turned and headed to go up the hall toward the lobby. I caught a good, full look at the poor women that feel and said to DH “OMG, she’s pregnant!!”

She was visible pregnant!!! She had fallen that hard on the floor and hit her head really hard and her husband didn’t do anything for his pregnant wife?!?!?! I was fuming mad!!! WTH!?!?! What the heck is wrong with people?!

Oh my, now I’ll get back to the rest of my TR.

So we went back up to room to settle in for the night. Unfortunately the timing of our late dinner coincided with Wishes so we missed watching it from the balcony.

But we did see the Electric Water Pageant!!! We had such a clear view!! It was fantastic! DH thinks the EWP is “cheesy” but watched from the balcony commenting that at least I didn’t drag him down to the beach to see it this trip.

After the EWP if was off to bed! We fell asleep while vision of pancakes and a safari danced in our heads but would those vision be fogged in?...

HOLY CRAP that story IS appalling. His pregnant wife and he didn't help her at all?!?! :confused2  i would have been hopping mad even seeing it from across the room, never mind being her friend who was right there with her. Wow.

Those EWP pictures are really cool, looks like something worth seeing!!

I was sooo upset! It was bad enough and then I saw that she was pregnant!! My DH would have been putting me to bed and calling the doctor! I felt so bad for her!

EWP is neat, DH thinks it's cheesy! It has this synthesized music that plays depending on the scene. You can see it MK and all the MK area resorts at night. So where on dis there should be something that lists the times. I know it goes by WL around 9:35.

Hey fellow long islander

Your trip loked like fun!!!! That ice cream from Kona's look great

Cant wait for more

HI Melissa!!
I've been off the boards a bit...but I'm all caught back up:goodvibes

I love your updates! It sounds like you are all having a great time.

I can't believe the poor lady falling off her chair!! Even my DH...who KNOWS I'd rather stay under the table than to have him make a fuss if I did something like that...would have at least helped me up, and made sure I was OK!!

Paula

Hey another Long Islander! I love finding other LIers on here :goodvibes

Melissa, that story is disgusting! I just can't believe how some people act and what some people will put up with! Sounds like you guys had a nice relaxing night though, aside from that terrible-ness. :flower3:

This snow today is ridiculous, I'm getting so sick of it! Except for the fact that school was cancelled for me again tonight :thumbsup2 haha Oh and about that lease situation, I heard that because of the economy things like that are happening at car dealers all over. What kind of van is it? A guy my BF works with turned in his hyundai tuscon a yr and a half early and is now financing a brand new one for the same price he was leasing for. I have a lease thats not really up until November (its a Chevy) but I'm going to go see if they'll take it back now if I finance a new car. If they dont, I'm going to go over the miles! Early congrats on the new van!! :thumbsup2

It really is disgusting! I still can't believe it! But we did have a nice relaxing night!

I'm so sick of the snow and the stupid cold! Yuck!! The kids had school, no early release or delay the next day! DD is in 2nd grade and has never had a snow day :confused3

My van is a Chrysler Town and Country, I really love the one I have now! The new one is a little different because they redesigned it! I can't wait! I have to get a new bunch of the Disney family sticker though!

Hey all my Diser friends! Sorry I was gone! I've been crazy cleaning lady the past 2 days and am finally happy with the way things are around here! Yes, I'm a tad OCD and the mess drives me completely insane!!!

Anyway, I have good news :cool1: and bad news :scared: (sort of) to share!

First the good news! I now hold in my happy little hand an email confirmation from my wonderful TA that says PAID IN FULL I'm super excited and need to get on with really planning out our days to know what we want to do in each park! I'll share that with you when I get it all together!

Now the bad news. My doctors office called this afternoon. My regular doctor, not my endocrinologist. She said they got the results of my ultrasound and there was an increase in the size of the one nodule on my thyroid and my thyroid in enlarged. I expected this but I'm a bit freaked! I went through a whole saga in 05 thinking I had thyroid cancer. After a long ordeal I was very lucky that I didn't. However since them my sister was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had to have her thyroid removed. The thing is she had nothing on her thyroid at all, they found the cancer after doing tests related to another problem with her neck. I'm the one with the thyroid full of stuff! I'm trying not to freak at the prospect of having my thyroid removed etc. But I think I'm failing miserably at it! LOL! Ugghh! I just keep telling myself it will be fine and so many people have it much, much worse! I'm sooooo glad I have this vacation to look forward to at this point! I'm going to try to emerse myself in disney and not think about it!

I'll stop whining now and I'll be back soon with a trip update!!!! :grouphug:

I'm sorry about your thyroid.... I'm sure that is a bit scary. But it is good that they're keeping a close eye on it at least, and that you're aware. Surgery is never fun, though. I'll pray for you. :grouphug:

And YAY for trip paid off!!!!! That must be so exciting!!! :hyper: I think Disney might be just what you need! :)

Thank you Linda! I'm trying to tell myself that I'm just being silly and to calm down! Emersing myself in Disney will help! I'm trying to start my scrapbook but for some reason I'm having a glitch with my cricut. :scratchin

Sorry about the bad news but at this point you have to think positive. You don't know if it is indeed cancer and worst case scenario it is curable. I know people that have gone through the same thing and they are all fine! Keep you head up and take a pro-active, positive approach. Will be sure to say a pray for you.
We will be at WDW at the same time.Let's hope the parks are not packed with people
Take care!
Corey

Awww Melissa, so sorry to hear about your thyroid, heres a big :grouphug: from me! Everything will be fineeee and like you said, just concentrate on the trip and enjoying yourself with your DH and you'll be ok.

You New Yorkers are too nice, I would have said something to the BEEP! pirate:
I hope everything comes out ok for you! I have been check a number of times for thyroids, since my oldest sister has it.

:wave2: Welcome!! I'm trying to think positive and keep my mind off it. I think I'm doing pretty good at it! My sister went through it and I know all will be fine no matter what. Truthfully, the thing I'm freaked the most about is the prospect of surgery! :scared: I hate the thought of someone cutting into my neck!

I hope there's not a lot of people too but there never seems to be a down time now! All the deals now have people who wouldn't have gone going! My travel agent said she's very busy! When we were in WDW last month I expected it to be empty and it wasn't!

Pam, I don't think I've ever heard New Yorkers and too nice in the same sentence before ;) !!

LOL!!

I'm sure all will be fine! My next step is to go get my blood taken and then wait for the 23rd for my doctors appt!

Ok! I'm back, finally ;), with a new update!!

Day 4, Part 1!

I woke Tuesday morning. Again before the wake up call! But the wake up call this morning wasn't until 7:30. I slept until 7! Sweet!

I did what I did ever morning, have done every morning on every Disney trip and will do every morning of every trip we take in the future. I drew back the drapes on the balcony doors just a tiny bit to take a look out. Normally I see the beautiful sights of WDW. A pool, the lake etc. This, however, was different! I saw...

Oh my! I thought about our plans for the day! Today was AK day. Hmmmm, we may not see any animals in pea soup fog. But, I'm flexible so I figured we see what the rest of the morning brought.

I got myself ready and then headed to get the kiddos and DH up. Johnny was slow to rise and said he didn't feel good. My heart sank and I had flash backs to our last trip with him sick. All I could think was poor kiddo, not again!! He said his throat hurt. So I took out my flashlight, the one I brought in case I needed to see in the room after the kiddos were asleep, and looked in his throat. I'm no doctor or nurse but I knew his tonsils looked a bit swollen and red. OH NO I thought please god let him NOT have strep! He also felt a little warm. In all the 17 tons of crap I packed I didn't pack a themometer. But, I used my mommy sense and figured he had a small fever. :scared:

I told him we could stay in the room for the day, him and I, but he insisted on going.

So we headed down to WWC for our 8:30 breakfast ADR. I had DH take the kids over and I headed into the Merchantile in search of children's medicine. I was able to get motrin, thank god! I also picked up 3 small stuffed animals for the kiddos cause I felt bad for Johnny and couldn't buy him something and not the other kiddos!

I went over to WCC, gave Johnny the Motrin and we ordered breakfast! The kiddos and I all had pancakes, I can't remember what DH had. Everything was good, but I felt like it was a higher price for the breakfast we could have gotten at Roaring Forks. If the place was crowded and all the fun was going on it may have been more enjoyable. If I wasn't worried about Johnny it also may have been better. I'm not sure we'll do breakfast there again. Dinner was 100 times better!

Then it was off to AK!

By the time we got out to bus stop the fog was pretty much all gone!! Yippee!!!

While we were on the bus Johnny said to me "Ya know what Mommy? I feel all better now!" Sounds good to me! But I knew it was the motrin kicking in and was still very concerned.

We arrived at AK in no time! I swear they changed the route of the buses into Ak. DH agreed. Anyway, moving on..

We headed toward the gate and saw the huge, beautiful tree!

I loved the animal ornaments!

We made it in fairly slowly! Oh my goodness! I'm not sure if everyone arrive at once or if there was a ton of people in the park (didn't seem that way) or if everyone was just slow! But it took like a half an hour to go throw security and the turnstile! Uggh!

We headed over to stroller rental, DH got the stoller for Johnny, who really needed it today and I took a quick picture of some sibling love!

Then it was off into the park!

I loved the Macaws we saw just inside!

Then we saw the Tree of Life!

We really wanted to see the Nemo Musical so we headed that way because there was one starting in about 45 minutes! It seemed like a long time to wait but we really wanted to see it! We waited outside for a good 30 minutes! We were about the 3rd family in line!

Ryan thought he was such a big boy sitting on the curb!

When we got inside we got very good seats. To the left of the section of the stage that comes out (if that makes sense)

We waited for a little longer and I prayed the show was worth all the waiting! Especially because Ryan was starting to get a bit restless! I took him from DH and gave him a bottle while talking to a very nice lady sitting next to us whose son was happily playing Star Wars with Johnny. She was very nice and I gave her some of my Disney knowledge! She was very thankful for it!

Then the show started! Sorry, no pictures :( DH had the camera because I had Ryan. DH can't take a good picture to save his life! They were all too blurry! Oh well!

All I can say about the show is WOW!!!! Oh my goodness it was fantastic!! We loved it!!! I don't want to give any details away to anyone who hasn't seen it but it's sooooooo good!!

After Nemo we headed to the Boneyard! The kiddos love the Boneyard!! DH took them in while I tried to find a bottle of water (I ended up with a huge soda and 3 bottles of water) and a shady spot to wait with the now sleeping Ryan!

They played for a good 30 minutes and only came out because I called DH on the phone! I figured the kids were sweating terribly because it was really hot!!!

Then we headed back over the bridge toward Discovery Island. I noticed a kiosk with crocs and they had little tiny pairs! I stopped and score! They had ones that fit Ryan! I didn't think they had them that small!! DD and DS also wanted hats. They each picked out cute hats and we paid for it all with $$ grandma and grandpa gave them before the trip! Thank you grandma and grandpa.

We continued walking toward Discovery Island stopped at a snack kiosk by Flame Tree BBQ for something. I realized at that moment that I had left the bag with the crocs at the kiosk they came from! The kiddos wore the hats and it didn't even occur to me that the was a bag too! OMG!!!

I left the big kiddos with DH and just about ran back! I didn't want to waist the twenty something dollars they cost!! As I neared the bridge the nice lady at the kiosk came running up to me with them!! She was so sweet and I thanked her very much!!

We headed up into Asia from Discovery Island and I stopped to take 2 pictures

I like this fuzzy thing on a tree because it looks similar to the things that grow on the Mimosa Tree we have in our front yard. Expect the things on our tree are white with bright pink on the ends.

And the neat boat

We walked through Asia and started on toward Africa. I said to DH Keep your eyes out, I'm looking for DeVine.

Then...

(continued below...)

continued from above...

I saw her!

I was soooo excited and the Disney Freak in me really came out :confused3

I started snapping pictures!!

While I was snapping away someone said "Is she real?" Of course I said "Yes!"

So without futher delay, I give you DeVine...

notice the salamander on the tree next to her face

leaning over resting on the tree

She looked right at me for this one

basking in the sun...

Gracefully starting to retreat into the trees

Oh my goodness! She's so beautiful and graceful! Our last was the first time we saw her and there were so many people around I couldn't get any good pictures!! I was soo excited!!!

After our encounter with DeVine we headed into Africa with intention of checking the fastpass time for the Safari. But stand by was only 20 minutes so we headed in. We've never done standby before.

We waited inline about 5 minutes moving forward quickly. When we got closer to the front a CM asked us how many in our party I told her 4 and one on a lap. She said to come with her! Sweet! We went to different area and boarded our truck with a family that was behind us! 2 or 3 other groups were already waiting on the truck!

We were off on safari!

We had a great interactive and funny driver!

see the itty bitty baby!? Soooo cute!

When our safari was over it was getting late because we had gotten there late. Not to mention it was HOT! I told DH I would miss FOTLK this trip, he was shocked because he knew I LOVE that show! I told him the Nemo Musical was enough for me!

So we headed toward the front the park. Johnny and I decided we wanted ice cream when we started to pass a hand scooped ice cream stand. I then waited on the longest ice cream line ever!! There was only 2 people in front of me and I swear I waited 20 minutes!! The lady in front of me was getting soooo mad  But the ice cream was yummy!!!

Before we left DH and DD decided to go into to see It's Tough to be a Bug. I was shocked DD wanted to see it. She HATED it (and thats putting it mildy) back in 05. But she seemed to enjoy it this time!!

Then it was out of AK for a quick trip back to WL to drop off all the gear we had! Then out for dinner!
