We are heading out in October 2007 for the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, who else is going for the event? Who else is waiting for October to travel?

I'm going in June and in Oct. but the Oct trip is specifically for the Food and Wine Fest!! We've been going for a few years now and always make a weekend trip for this festival. It's amazing!!

The quesadillas and chilaquiles from the Mexico cart are incredible!!

Hi there!

I'll be there for the Food & Wine Festival as well. I'll be staying at The Swan Oct 13 to 17 and traveling by train from South Florida. I just got off the phone from making a reservation for Le Cellier (my first time there) and had the weirdest experience. After I made that reservation, I asked when I could call for The Bistro de Paris and she started going off about tickets and how I couldn't get them at The Swan (must be something new ... I got them at The Dolphin last December), and I just couldn't figure out what that had to do with dinner reservations. Are they supposed to, like try to get you to buy tickets from them or something?

In any case, this will be my first time at the Food & Wine Festival, though I've been to WDW probably some 30 times or more. I don't imagine I'll be making more than one other dinner reservation, since I plan to eat and drink my way around the world! :)

And now, if we can keep those pesky hurricanes away, this will all work out just fine!

I'll be there in three weeks and then in October for the F&W. I may even be solo for the October trip as DH can't make it. What a concept; alone in WDW and doing just what I want to do!

We just happen upon the F and W Festival a couple years ago... never again.. way too crowded.. it made us so late for our storybook dining dinner that they refused to seat us.. I was so upset.. they went on and made us the last table of the night... So.. if you have rezs.. make sure to allow plenty of time... and don't bring a stroller.... Epcot has no room in the countries for a stroller!

It was very crowded last year but only at night. Day time wasn't too bad. But I remember telling my friend last year that I truely thought that the crowd that particular night was even larger than on a typical summer night. I think it was a Saturday and you get alot of the local people in on the weekends.

I'm planning on going. Never been there before so I quite don't know how things work there. I know you tour around the world on a regular park ticket and buy the tapas and wines, and I understand you need to make prior reservations if you want a wine pairing dinner. Is this done in any of the countries or is it at a specified place?

We are going to avoid the weekends, as I do hear they do get quite busy.

I am very excited about this and can't hardly wait!!!

DH and I will be attending for the first time. Since its just the two of us, we can go early to beat the crowds. Can't wait!

:cloud9: I am trying to put together a short WDW getaway for myself, cousin and my best friend....:dance3: We are waiting for confirmation on my hotel dates at the S/D...I was the first monthly podcast winner and I won the 3 day/2nights at the S/D....

So I decided to make this a girls only trip with no hubby's or kids!!!! Only because we are going with the fam in Sept for the free dining. So I don't feel bad....:rolleyes1

I have always wanted to go too the F&W festival. So I am so excited...

Now if Bob will just get back too me with my dates!:rolleyes1

We only plan to do Epcot while there.... The day we arrive we may head to City Walk and check out Margaritaville for lunch before checking into the S/D.
Another thing I have always wanted to do.

I don't plan to make any ADR the day of the F&W...We just plan to eat around the world!! Can't wait for a margarita in Mexico!!;)

We have trip in July with niece & her friend, then DH & I are going in early Nov. to celebrate our anniversary which always happens to be during the F&W Festival. :dance3: :drinking1

just back from SSR (DD & self) :cloud9:
DH & self going for F&W 9/29-10/7 (BWV)

this will be our 1st F&W experience in our many years of WDW.
we know "avoid the weekends", "drink margaitas ;) " ~ any other pointers would be great! :thumbsup2

I went for the first time last year and absolutely LOVE it! :goodvibes

My advice is to go first thing when World Showcase opens. It was the least crowded and I got through every single booth that I wanted to try by 2:00pm. After that, it got very crowded and we left. I would hate to be there at night when the concerts are going on because I could tell it was going to get very busy. I can't wait to see the menus for this year's booths.

I loved the Irish Cream Trifle in Ireland and the baklava and spinach-feta pastry from Greece. The ice-wine from Canada was great as was the mousse and champagne cocktail from France. Italy had a great eggplant pasta dish and some good wines. The champagne booth was good too. My DD and DH loved the saurkraut and sausage pretzel sandwhich in Germany.
Who am I kidding, everything was fantastic!

We will going for the first time, I have epcot scheduled for Monday and Wednesday. It sounds like some good eatin.popcorn:: and drinking.princess:
