DH and I went to WDW for the first time in about 20 years last month. We had a blast:cool1: We're planning a new trip in June and bringing more family along. A few observations: 20 years ago we had a hard time finding MM himself in the parks and finally got pics with him in Epcot. Would you believe we only saw him once this time around too and that was from afar in MK while he was in a show? Granted we did no character meals..so it was just a hit or miss thing seeing characters or princesses. Who is the most hard to find princess or character in the World? We saw Jiminy Cricket signing autographs and almost waited to have a photo with him..but the line was really long. I DID get a photo with Aurora in Epcot and was very happy about that. She was signing outside the France area. So.....who's the big "get" as far as character photos?

It shouldn'tbe hard to get a photo with the core characters and princesses.
In MK just go to the main hub when you first enter there are normally characters placed through out here (esp right after rope drop). Also in Toontown they have Toontown Hall of Fame were you stand in line, they normally have a line just for princesses then one for core character (i.e. pluto, donald, minnie). Ariel is at Ariel's Grotto. Sometimes you'll find Alice and gang at the teacups. Characters tend to hang in there respective areas, like Stitch in tomorrowland. Adventureland are Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, Rafiki and Timon.

Epcot you will have characters all the time in the charcter spot in future world. In each country, characters from the different lands meet and greet visitors. You'll find Pinocchio in Italy, Aladdin in Morocco, Snow White in Germany and Belle and the Beast in France.

Ak you can find characters at Rafiki's Planet Watch and Discovery Island. Also most of the time they are at the entrance.

HS there are characters down by the hat, at the end of the magic of disney imagination. You'll find the toy story guys by al's toy barn and there should be a set spot for the guys from Cars.

When you enter parks they have a time listing of where and when characters normally will be. Also most of you rare guys come out during hard ticket events.

Ariel because she is the best! JK...the only way to see her is in Ariel's grotto and you have to get there really early like first thing in the morning and you can see her at the Princess meal in Norway and I think she is in another character meal, I could be wrong though.

I wish they had her out in the parks though in her wedding dress.

Oh other characters would be some of the guys in this pic...I know max is rare and so are the guys from Robin hood. We saw them in DHS in May...I think the most rare ones are in DHS.

lynn5700 how did you manage to get all of them in one place? That's awesome!! Tell me your secrets:goodvibes

One of the CMs surprised us with that...it was while we were on our honeymoon..one of the best moments we have ever had. I even got it all on video. It was amazing. The story is in my TR if you want to read about it..the wedding TR. It's a long story and I'm going to bed..lol.

The one character we had problems finding was Daisy. After the second day, DS (2.5) went up to all the other characters and his opening line was "Where's Daisy?"
Goofy's answer :confused3
Minnie's answer :dance3:
Mickey's answer  go ask Donald.

daisy used to be rare. she's been a commoner since late 2006 i believe.

mickey actually is out 'full time' at a particular location at each of the parks.

al's toy barn is no longer.

there's really noone elusive per se. characters do go on rotation. so a character can be virtually impossible to find one day but out constantly 6 months from now.

The Princesses due to their popularity the last several years are pretty well represented (where a decade ago many of them weren't out at all) for meets and greets. Of course they can also be seen (though not met) in all the parades, Fantasmic and Belle and Ariel have their own show.

Snow White is out with Dopey often, but only at Epcot and not all day every day while we were there in Jan/Feb 08. The CM at MK told me that she's a bit rare but does appear in Toontown in MK. Occasionally she's at CRT for breakfast/lunch. Apparently the other dwarves are out during special occasions like the Food & Wine Festival last year and the Halloween party some years.

Ariel isn't difficult to find.....she's always in her grotto in MK....and she's occasionally at Akershus restaurant in Norway....but those are the ONLY places you'll find her for meet and greet (she's in the parades too but obviously not for meet/greet).

Cinderella is probably the easiest....we've seen her wandering MK, at Akershus, in Toontown and of course at her Castle for those eating at CRT. Cinderella and her step-sisters (and usually her step-mom) can be seen each night at 1900 Park Fare (in Grand Floridian). Akershus as well.

Aurora is a regular at Toontown....she's quite often seen along the riverbank near the bridge in France, and occasionally we saw her wandering MK. She's also at Akershus or CRT on rotation.

Jasmine is often in Morroco, either inside one of the buildings, or outside by the river in nice weather.....often with Aladdin and sometimes with Genie (she signs for Genie). We also saw her near Aladdin's Carpets in MK. Also at Akershus on rotation. Also CRT breakfast and lunch on rotation.

Mulan seemed to have a regular schedule of appearances in China, but it was only a few times a day, so you'll want to ask about her times. She often was joined by Mushu who was much taller than we thought, lol.

Belle can be found most of the day on the sidewalk/near the river in France in her blue dress, often with the Beast (she signs for him). She's often in her yellow gown for photo ops at Akershus (and occasionally doing the room in her blue dress). She's another rare figure at Toontown. And of course she has her own Storytelling nook to the right of the Castle (looking from the hub)...check the schedule board just outside this area for times. She's in her blue dress there. She also appears at CRT for breakfast/lunch on rotation.

Pocahontas isn't considered one of the Princess franchise, but her Dad was King, so that makes her a princess in my eyes.....she used to have her own show/meet/greet in Animal Kingdom but that ended not to long ago. I don't recall seeing her on any of the restaurant lists or wandering around, so she may very well have become one of the more elusive characters for a meet.

Now with the exception of Aladdin, and the Beast in beast form, the Prince for each of these ladies is very rare in a meet/greet. They are often in parades/Fantasmic, but we were there a month looking and hoping and never got to actually meet them in person. I guess they're too busy running their kingdoms to make appearances, lol. I've read about them being out and about during the Halloween party. We went to the Pirate & Princess Party hoping to see them, but only saw Aladdin. EDITED TO ADD: Someone pm'd me to remind me that Cinderella's Prince is very often with her at the 1900 Park Fare dinner with the step-sisters/mother. I had forgotten because the night we did 1900 he wasn't there, so we still haven't met him, except at Disneyland.

The other characters....there are sooo many of them, many of which have never been at meet and greets, that this would be a long and difficult list. The best way to know who will be out during the day, and most importantly where and when, is to ask a CM at the front of the park. They often have a list they can go over with you. The other CMs around the park may not have a list but can call and ask, but that's easier when you're asking about a particular person instead of asking a general "who's out". Guest Services is another place we've had good luck with.....when we've asked for a particular character at GS, we've actually had them tell us she's not "here" but she'll be in another park, so we have the option of hopping over to the other park.

We always see Aladdin and Beast with jasmine and belle...I guess we just got lucky..in Epcot and Jasmine and Aladdin were together in MK by the magic carpet ride.

her point was actually that beast and aladdin are common.

charming and philip are out during MNSSH as well as MVMCP along with 'snow prince.'

they were all out during the initial batch P&PP (including eric and john smith) but evidently not since.

and as it is, all CMs near a phone (which includes shops, dining and attractions) have access to the CHIP line which is where they can find out about individual appearances that day.

Lynn I love that wedding pic in your sig. You have this mischievious look. As if you were saying "HAHA! I got you now!"

Oh bradk, thanks...we'll be at MVMCP this December so hopefully we'll see Charming, Philip and Snow's Prince!

Yeah, my Ariel loving daughter was very excited at the reports for the first P&PP that Eric was out, but alas, we went during the second round of parties in Jan 08, and none of them were out. She asked Ariel where Eric was and she said he was at home tending to Melody.

actually, let me correct myself, sorry.

i got confused and things have changed.

snow prince has been at MVMCP but i'm not sure how things will go this year because they're down to just 1 room at the toontown hall of fame unless they use pixie hollow as well or find some other accomodations.

Oh looks like I saw the word rare in her comment about the beast and Aladdin...silly me.

We actually saw her twice last week, both times in Animal Kingdom. Once was right outside where her show used to be and the second time a few hours later at Conservation Station. DD was pretty excited, it was the first time we had found her, so twice in one day was bonus.

yes, poca has been a daily fixture at conservation station for years. along with jiminy cricket and rafiki. her show did not offer a meet & greet and only the show ended.

I'd have to say that Megara and Esmeralda are two of the most elusive characters to get photos with :)

There are a bunch of random characters that haven't really ever been seen. The character from Kingdom hearts hasn't been out in ages, the elephant from the Jungle Book, etc. Currently appearing characters do tend to rotate through, but there are still a few that haven't been seen for ages. Hades doesn't sign much, Darkwing Duck and Launchpad McQuack, etc. I coulda sworn I saw the Gummi Bears years ago......
