Who's staying VGF for opening day?

Hi All,

I added on 50 points at VGF last week, and might add 200 more Monday.
So my question is how many of you have booked opening day Oct 23rd to go stay? We live 5 whole miles from it, so we will be there early then heading to our room. I'm betting our room will be ready when we check in

We our heading up for that night. My plan is to check in early too - we are 1.5 hours away.

I am hoping to add on 100 points at the VGF in the next week or so. We have a DCL Fantasy cruise scheduled For 10/26 and have not bought airline tickets yet. So..I am thinking if we add on then we could come down the 23rd and spend 3 nights before the cruise. Does anyone know if there are even any room types still available 10/23 - 10/26? I cannot check since I don't have it as a home resort...YET!

If this is something we are not able to discuss on the boards just let me know. I don't want to break any rules!

Studio and one bedroom standard view are available all days. Studio lakeview is short one night.

Thank you for checking for me! There will be 5 of us since I am bringing my DB and DSIL. Based on that I would have to get 2 studios or a 2 bedroom unit. I should have said this initially so sorry for that lack of information. Can anyone tell me how the 2 bedroom availability looks like for these 3 days?

I seem to recall someone arrived at BLT's opening around 4am.
They had to wait a few hours.
Not sure the exact time, but I think it was 8am they were allowed to check-in and go to their room.

At BLT they allowed CM's to stay prior to the opening in order to check things out and work out any kinks. I'd guess that will happen at VGF too so even though it's opening day it won't necessarily mean that nobody has ever stayed in the room or wasn't staying there even the night prior.

We will be checking in on opening day 10/23 and staying for 3 nights in a two bedroom lake view. Funny thing when I first booked it I selected a standard view but then when I told DH he said call back and get the lake view. He said if we are going to be there for opening day then lets do it up big...made me chuckle.

We'll be there 23rd and 24th in a 1 BR standard - so excited! This will be our very first DVC stay! We just got our membership number in June, so I was thrilled to be able to get our first couple nights at VGF. Hoping to get the remaining 3 nights filled via waitlist for VGF studio - that's probably a stretch, right?

Does anyone know if there will be any special celebrations/events at the resort on opening day?
