Who's sailing April 18-22, 2004 - gotta start this sometime!!

The time is drawing closer! I can't find anything to wear - LOL! My suitcases are packed - just a few last minute details - getting the little necessities together and I could leave right now...or at least I wish I could!

No such luck on the house! Oh well - it just wasn't meant to be. The timing was really off - and it needed a lot of work - the perfect house is still out there waiting for us to stumble across it!

We're going on a MICKEY SHIP! HIP HIP HOORAY! See you ALL really really really soon!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc and :Pinkbounc

The bribes worked!!! Our daughter's fever is gone!!! She did request, however, that I please stop talking about Mickey Mouse for a while. I must have sounded urgent to her. :Pinkbounc

The perfect house IS waiting for you, goofy601, I'm sure of it.

We're flying into Orlando on Saturday early morning...we get there around 10am. For those of you who know the area, would we have time to go to Sea World that day by the time we get our luggage and car, etc?

Can't wait to go ~ :D :p :o

Sea World is well worth it if you can get there. A couple years back we included Sea World among the busy schedule and ended up going back a second day. We were amazed that they kids actually asked to go back instead of going to another theme park.

It may not be quite as enjoyable if you feel rushed but you can adjust what you try to do. You should check the hours to see what time they operate that day.

Sopandbass- It looks like Sea World is open until 10:00 so you would have time to visit if you don't think it would be too late for dd (glad she's all better). Maybe it would help prep her for having dinner in the middle of the night!

goofy601-Sorry the house didn't work out for you but when you find the perfect one you'll be glad it didn't!

travel with kids-Congratulations on finishing your class. By the way, I couldn't remember how cold anything was but there were posts that made it seem like the indoor areas could be chilly. Ugh, not another thing to pack:mad: .

Picked up more bubbles for all our new friends here. Hope everyone can make it to Scoops!

See you all soon!

sopandbass --Glad your DD is feeling better. I would do Sea World. We LOVED it. last year we went for a day. loved it so much, opted not to go back to Universal and do Sea World for a second day!!--enjoy.

Goofy601-- The next huge house will be for you!! I love your spirit!!:goodvibes

Time to hit the mud room:rolleyes:

Hello everyone! It's the Mrs. (ScottOhioCPA)

Wow! Just started getting clothes out for packing. Cruises are difficult since you need dressy, casual, beach stuff, and who knows what the weather will be like in Ohio when we leave & return. And then the shoes dilemma. I don't want to think about all the shoes I could take.

DisneySailor - BTW thanks for getting the bubbles. Great Idea.
About the chilliness -I remember on Carnival that I was cold all the time inside because of the A/C.

Travelwithkids- Glad you finished your class! Hopefully we'll see you at the Radisson.

SopandBass - Glad your DD is better. We used to have Sea World in Ohio (Aurora), but Six Flags bought them out. We really miss Sea World and were thinking that now we will have to go to Florida to go there.

Goofy601 - Your house hunting sounds like my job hunting. Waiting for the perfect one! Good Luck!

Bostonlass - your boss sounds a lot like my soon to be Ex Boss:(
You have my sympathies! (Great commercial) Hope the party went well though.

The kids had their last day of school today for 2 weeks. Spring break is this upcoming week and they get out of school for our cruise the following week. The plan is to have them do their homework while on Spring Break.

See you all really soon!:earseek:

:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Can you believe it? Mrs. SCOTTOHIOCPA says I can get the luggage out and start packing!:) We must be getting really close for that to happen.

We leave a week from today! I can't believe I can say that! My husband only has to go to work 5 more times, and the kids only have to get on the school bus 5 more times. WOW. This week is going to fly by with all the last minute preparations. All of our documents are filled out and signed, so hopefully that will save us alot of time at check in.

WE'RE going on the MICKEY SHIP.

For those staying at the Radisson Saturday night, want to arrange a meet? I was thinking we could meet around 4:30PM and work our way down to send off the Magic.

Disney1fan2002 -
We'll be somewhere between MCO and cape canaveral at 4:30 Saturday, so don't wait for us. We're going to try to make it to Grill's seafood on the channel that Magic uses to get out to sea. I'm guessing it will pass around 5:10. We have a 50-50 chance of making it.

We leave one week from today too! Here is the most recent weather report:
Apr 16 Sunny 76°/60° 10 %
Sat
Apr 17 Mostly Sunny 80°/61° 10 %
Sun
Apr 18 Mostly Sunny 83°/61° 10 % !!!!!!!!!

I'm glad we're leaving sooner than later. DD's toe looks like a grape. She survived the gym show, lost her cold, but got kicked in the pinky toe during soccer at school. Hopefully it will feel better soon. My husband's work is giving him a really hard time about leaving because it's such a "critical time."   This exact thing that happened the last time we took a big family vacation which was TWO years ago this April. I figure that if the President of the United States can take a vacation, the world WILL survive without my dh for one week! Also, no dumb paper= no taxes. I was really hoping to get that taken care of before we go. I think our accountant is going to stop taking our calls soon.

OK, enough of that business, in the words of goofy601, "We're going on a Mickey Ship!!!!."

Mrs. Scottohiocpa- I agree with all that different clothes stuff. I think cruise vacations are the hardest to pack for, but once you're on the ship, you have so many fewer decisions to make than most vacations. Happy packing.

See you all in NINE days!

Hello All! It's hard to believe that we are only 1 week away from leaving to head down to FLORIDA to be on our way on our DISNEY CRUISE - oops - MICKEY SHIP!

My kids got the cutest post cards today - from Buzz Lightyear, Belle, Cinderell and Stitch! They were all amazed that they all knew that they were coming on the ship! That is awesome!!

I have to get ready for church - so I'll check in again tomorrow. I really can not contain my excitement - it's getting so close!!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Goofy601-- Did you cry when your children received the postcard in the mail? I did!! On Christmas Eve, when DH came home and had the mail with the postcard in it--I cried!!! I am a huge sap!

I hear you all on the packing!! When I had a job that required me to travel weekly (before dh & ds, dd) I had packing down to a science. Now, forget it. However, in my own defense, I wore every outfit I packed for our week long trip to Mexico. It is the same situation-casual stuff during the day and dressier stuff during the evening. However, I only took 3 pairs of shoes. I am still trying to weed out the 7 I have lined up!!! However, let me say, the BEST invention is luggage on wheels.:)

This next week is going to be crazy:crazy2: !! Dh is going on a job interview (please send good vibes on Monday!!). My supervisor is not going to be in school M,T or W and we know that another teacher will be out on M & W. This for me, means very early mornings (I need to be at, in my classroom by 7:00am) and a load of resonsibility. All I want to do is pack and leave:teeth:

As far as us making it to the Radisson by late afternoon---please do not count us in. I think we will arrive early evening. But who knows!! Maybe.

Lots to do today...clean, get ready for Easter Dinner (at our house) and PACK!!!!

Wish you all a very Happy and Peaceful Easter.....Lee

Sorry i have been so inactive it has been a crazy week! Dh is home safe and sound and we just got done redoing our living room flooring tearing up carpet and putting in laminate so needless to say he is having issues just relaxing.

i will try to catch up on everything that i have missed and actually do personals tomarrow just wanted to let everyone know we are still going.

In the words of goofy601
WE ARE GOING ON A MICKEY SHIP!!!!!

:bounce: It's getting closer and closer and even closer, still! :Pinkbounc We're going on a MICKEY SHIP! Hip Hip HOORAY!

I was all teary-eyed when my kids got their post cards. My oldest ds was all curious as to how the characters knew we were going to be on the ship. My youngest dd was mad-she couldn't "open" the letter...duh - it's a postcard - then again - she's only going to be 3 on Tuesday.

Happy Easter Everyone! I am running out to the store to get the rest of the little do dahs I need for the kids Easter baskets - I'm an unorganized mother this year -- too much working and not enough playing! Cheerio! See you all soon!

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hey all!! I think we are all so busy, with the holidays, as well as getting ready for the cruise!!

Guardwife - thank goodness your husband made it home safely!! Hope all is going OK - sounds like it's a bit hectic..

We leave weds early AM...so far (for all you type A's on this board!!), I have my DD's clothes ready to put in a suitcase....yes, that's all!!! I asked my DS to get his clothes out and on his bed, so I could check them, wash/mend/iron whatever...No such luck so far.........

My parents arrived this afternoon for the Easter weekend. I'm very blessed that they can still travel here (they live 4 hours away, and are 72 & 75). So far they are doing great, but each time I see them lately, they look a little bit older and more feeble - especially my Dad. He has a number of cardiac problems, and I see it taking a toll on him. He's on a medication called Coumadin (blood thinner), which obviously, is really important. Tonight, he couldn't remember where he put it, and we spent the better part of a half hour looking for it - it ended up being in the side pocket of his travel kit. It's scary watching your parents age before your eyes, and I can see the writing on the wall here......it's VERY possible with each passing holiday, that the next one might not ever be the same, depending on their health. The inevitable really freaks me out.......I am so grateful for each 'normal' day, week, holiday that we have...

Anyway......we leave Weds am - pick up at an EARLY hour - I think 6:00am (I need to check the itenerary!) Altho I'm not packed, I do feel ready from the standpoint of research (thank you disboards.com!!!) We're really looking forward to meeting all of you at Scoops!! We love meeting friendly, new people, so this will be easy...... Maybe we will get lucky, and be seated with one of you for dinner!

We're off to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and 4 days of exhausting, but fun!! park exploration. I'm sure we will be more than ready for a relaxing Wonder cruise. We can't wait!!

Good Morning and Happy Easter everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful day with your families!

I can appreciate what your going through. My grandparents had always been like parents to me. At the end of our last cruise, my family had been trying to reach us but it turned out we had lost our cell phone on board. We ended up being trapped at the car drop off place (nightmare) and couldn't get home until 4:00 a.m. When we arrived we found out Grampa was in the hospital and he passed away a few days later (at least I was able to see him first!). My grandparents had been our longstanding Disney escorts and pals and that was our first trip to FL without them. My gramma lives here with my mom now but is quite frail. Going to Fl brings back lots of happy memories but it is tough too. I'm glad your having a nice visit with your parents.

Guardwife-I've been thinking about your family and am so glad everything is going well!

travel with kids- Send your dh good wishes for his interview tomorrow

FIVE days until we leave. There are so many things to do before then that it is very overwhelming. It will feel great to actually land in Orlando and be on with our vacation.

See you all NEXT SUNDAY at Scoops, can't wait!!!!:hyper:

Just looked this up and wanted to share it:

Tue Apr 20 Mostly Sunny 82°/70° 0 % (Castaway Cay Day!!!!!!)
