Who's not excited about BLT?

I'll be excited booking my BLT room at the 7 month window!

Same here! I'll be excited to try out another resort but that's about it really. I'm not crazy about the rooms from what I've seen. Being close to the MK is a plus but after that it's really just another new resort that we can use our points at.

In the last 2 years, we've tried SSR, BWV, AKV, and OKW. BLT will end up being another option for us but buying there doesn't interest me. Spoke with DW today and if we ever add-on, it will be more points (to go with what we have) at AKV or maybe GCV (so we can go to DL) or perhaps HHI (we'd like to visit there first to see if it would be a trip we would consider making every year). But, outside of the 11 month booking window advantage, I can't see why we would buy into another resort at WDW.

I'm looking foward to trying for the 7-month window, but not to own. I'm not a fan of the high-rise concept.

I am hoping that we can book a room for a marathon weekend in January sometime so we can just take the monorails back and forth to EPCOT for the race. I know that during the marathon weekend, DVC usage is typically down, but I think I may have a problem booking BLT b/c of every other runner may have this plan too!

I'm not the least bit excited about it, BUT....

we have a new grandson and I suspect being able to walk (and stroller) in to MK will be a reason to stay there for us in the not too distant future.

Nothing against BLT, but MK isn't my favorite park, so the thought of a DVC there doesn't do anything for me. I can understand some people being excited, but I'm thinking that if you don't have young kids, or grandkids, you're probably not excited about it. Frankly, our only excitement about this is that maybe lots of people will sell off some points elsewhere, including HHI, in order to buy BLT, so I can talk DH into an add-on at HHI. Is there anyone else out there who isn't loving this resort for themselves, or am I all alone?

Maybe someone will sell off some OKW points so i can do an add on......

The last one I was excited about was BCV. Though I like SSR, AKV didn't thrill me. When the concept of CRV was first discovered, I was interested, but not enough to buy points. GCV was a little more interesting because we had just visited DL in 2006 and really like it a lot.

Not thrilled at all about THV (no king sized beds there). Hawaii thrills me even less.

Not buying any more points anywhere.

Strangely I find my excitement has dramatically dimmed. The decor turns me off. Price is acceptable but the timing is terrible. I went from a "must buy" to a "I can wait" to a "thank goodness I waited" mentality in a matter of 6 months.

THV is far more exciting to me since I already own SSR. I see it as adding major value to my home resort.

You're definitely not alone. It doesn't appeal to me at all - not even to try it out just once.

Happy to hop on a bus to MK and return to my spacious, quiet, OKW afterwards :) (The only time I ever use the 7 month window is to use my BWV points for OKW)

Very happy for those who have been waiting for BLT though.

I have to agree with you on this Pootle.

I thought we were the only ones who used BWV points @ 7 months to stay at OKW.

My impression was BLT was OK and was not interested in adding on. HOWEVER my DH says that the tennis pro is at the CR or the GF, one of those. AND the business center is at one of those resorts, so he's interested in a possible small add on for now. BUT I'm saving money for GCV and he loves those...one or the other, we do not have money for both.

Actually, I am so excited I added 200 points at BLT today. By far the most convienent resort for my family.

My thoughts exactly. I would like to stay there at least once so we can watch the fireworks from our room. Surprisingly, I am now finding myself wanting to buy resale instead. Maybe add-on to AKV or buy somewhere else (BCV, VWL, or maybe even SSR).

Agreed. Bring on the Villas at The Grand Californian.:thumbsup2

Amen to that ! I'm waiting to see how many points are needed for a 1 bedroom there for Sun-Thu. Buy a small add-on and do that every second or third year. We stayed at the GCH last year on points and we bowled over by it !

Count me in as one who's not excited. Not to say I don't want to book a night or two there eventually just to experience it, but the rooms don't have one bit of appeal to me. There's just nothing there that says sit-back, relax, you're in DISNEY! (nope - a theme park view wouldn't do it for me.)

I'm VERY curious about the tree house villas though...

No interest in BLT, just not my style. I feel like we've been waiting for the GC details forever, I sure hope they have better discounts for it than $5.

I'm thrilled the THV were added to SSR!

Not interested....never was. Now that we have seen it, I am even less interested. Sure, having a balcony view of Wishes would be great, but with the point costs for those rooms and needing the 11 month booking window, I'm not planning to ever get it. Besides....I'd only do it once, and then I would say "I've done that", and it would be over with.

I won't be purchasing, but may want to do the MK view once in a while at the 7-month window. But based on our usual length of stay and room type, it will cost a whopping 70 points more at minimum than staying at my usual DVC choices. So based on the point cost alone, I don't envision visiting BLT (MK view) very often unless I need to burn some points fast.

I am excited to have another DVC option when it's available at the 7 month mark and would like to try a few days there at some point in the future, but I did not plan to add on there.

I am happy for all those who were able to have their BLT dream come true though :)
